Formally a candle making workshop and then the village surgery, Heron Cottage has recently been completely refurbished and extended to create a modern, light and comfortable cottage. Sitting in beautiful countryside and conveniently located between Cheltenham and Cirencester, the cottage is perfect for romantic breaks and those that want to escape from busy city life. The space Having been unloved since the doctor moved to a new surgery in the 1950s we have entirely refurbished the cottage and retained many of the original features such as the old beams, the bread oven and an ancient fireplace. We have also added on a modern sitting/dining room complete with a stylish wood burning stove (all wood provided). The old and new sections have a glass link so light floods in and the views down the Churn Valley are magical with sheep grazing and our hens pecking in the fields. Heron Cottage has two large individually designed double rooms, both with luxury super king-sized beds. The bed in the upstairs bedroom can be converted into two singles upon request. This bedroom has a private bathroom with a rain shower over the bath while the downstairs bedroom has a spacious ensuite shower room. Both bedrooms have free-sat TVs, hairdryers and all linen and towels are from The White Company. We are now pleased to be able to offer 100 Acres Apothecary, beauty products produced locally which have 100% natural ingredients. As well as a comfortable living area with a Smart TV with Sky and a table seating 6 people, there is a new fully equipped kitchen and a separate WC. The cottage is extremely warm with underfloor heating downstairs and there is Wi-Fi throughout the house. Large bi-fold doors open onto a terrace which is great for breakfast in the garden or evening barbecues. Guests are welcome to use our tennis court by arrangement. There is a boiler room next door where laundry facilities are available and it is perfect for drying your coats after a damp, muddy walk! The aim is to provide you with everything that you could possibly want for a break in the Cotswolds. Guest access There is ample parking for two cars near to your front door. For those with mobility problems the cottage can be accessed by the kitchen door with only one low step. The whole of the downstairs is on one level so the downstairs bedroom would be ideal, although full disabled facilities are not provided. Other things to note Recently we have had enquiries about charging electric cars. We have lots of outside sockets but have to make a small charge of £5.00 per night payable in cash.
