Description
My home is comfortable and developed through time with affection. Airbnb is on top attic floor with steep stairs so not ‘inclusive’ sorry. It’s early 19th century and retains its beams and character tho has been modernised. It’s not a large space but has sitting area, small child’s den and shower room. Guests are welcome to use kitchen and a reception room on ground floor- and there’s also a well-stocked garden with pond. It’s at old centre of large village with facilities and walks all around. The space The Airbnb attic space plus own door and (steep) stairway is exclusive to guests, as is the small shower room inc. toilet. There is a double room, a small lounging area +TV, drinks facility, plus smaller bedroom for one (or 2) other/s with a double futon sofa bed. A baby or older child is welcome - there is a small 'den' for children. However, a toddler and the stairs might not be safe, on the other hand, there is a child safety gate now. It might also be tricky for those who cannot manage stairs well. A discussion about this is encouraged. Note that the roof inclines so that it is low at the sides of rooms but there is still full height space throughout. It includes some beautiful exposed beams but has also been modernised. The decor is simple with old and contemporary mix. Wifi good. You can hear vehicles passing during commuter times. Guest access You are welcome to cook in the kitchen (local shops/take-aways a few minutes walk), and eat in the dining room or kitchen. Do use the garden itself. This has been well stocked by previous owners and is sunny, plus frog, insect and bird friendly!. It's a lovely home to lounge around in. Note: first floor is private - for friends and family only. Breakfast is available for no extra charge - help yourselves to coffee and teas, plus a variety of juice, breads and spreads, cereals, eggs and fruit. During your stay The house is sometimes occupied with one or two friends /family coming and going. I can sometimes arrange to be there at the start of your stay and will be on-hand some of the time to offer help. Please do ask. I can help with travel tips plus places to visit, whether you are with or without private transport (see also Guidebook-on-line and the files, etc. in the house). Other things to note Some mobile reception (Vodaphone) is excellent though others may need a move to another part of house (first floor or even garden) for best reception. This is to do with coverage in the village. Wifi is now much improved.
