Home in Aubenton
Description
About the price: the extra guest fee applies for the first three days. If you stay longer, it will only be 5 euros per person, per day. Authentic farmhouse in the middle of French hills. Enjoy the soothing tranquility, listen to birds of all kinds of plumage, walk through the nearby forest or exchange country for city: Reims, Laon and Charleville an hour away, Paris two. The space At the house you can still very clearly see the ferme, the vaulted stables are admittedly empty but if you walk inside and see the feeders highlighted by the low stable windows you can almost hear the cows. The space can now be used for sculpting, painting, woodworking or even dancing. Anyway, we were talking about the house. Not chic, just a nice place to be on one of the nicest streets in France; the street is dead, a house away live the father and mother of the farmer who farms the house on the other side. If you walk down the path along the parents, you can choose forest or field at the bottom, or via two hamlets a walk to the village where they still have a bakery, café tabac, supermarket, flower shop, museum and restaurant. If you had driven the other way from the house by car, you would of course also get there. The house, according to good French custom, you enter the living room, to the left of which is a living and dining room. Adjacent to it is the bathroom (again not chic or modern but just what it should be: a shower, sink and toilet, tout propre), the other opens onto the bedroom with double bed. In the living room is also the staircase upstairs where there is a second bedroom with a double bed. If necessary, a sofa bed can be placed in the living room. Or a cot, both bedrooms are spacious enough for it. Sleeping in the attic is only for real adventurers, which is still completely authentic with cock beams where the old horse carriage still hangs. The large barn that is built on the house is also a beautiful example of craftsmanship, the wooden skeleton with beautiful pen and hole roof construction. Anyone who wants to can also enjoy themselves in this space. Guest access The entire house, stable, barn and garden are at your disposal. Other things to note The baker comes by every day around 8 o'clock, if you stand by the road the first time, she will stop in front of the house as long as you have agreed. Behind the house is a large lawn with a magnificent view over a rolling landscape. Around the house, there are places everywhere where you can find the sun or the shade. Crossroads of French landscapes, this northern French hilly landscape is located at the foothills of the French Ardennes, on the border of the Champagne Ardennes, near Nord pas de Calais. The prevailing tranquility in this agrarian area is hardly noticeable anymore, as this area has been the scene of so many and often fierce battles over the centuries. Rich in history but now also in soothing tranquility. Those who want to keep it that way listen to the numerous birds, grazing cows in all shapes and sizes and in the season to the bubbling deer. Those who want a little more city life can go to Laon, Charleville-Mezieres or Reims. For the famous cathedrals, champagne, museums or shopping. An hour away, and you're in Paris. Slightly smaller is Chimay with its great beers, and there are countless villages with fortified churches. On Sundays, the flea markets where, with a little luck, the sniffer can indulge in the authentic French stuff. In an area like this, you can also enjoy hiking, biking, horseback riding and canoeing.
