Handmade from local wood and handcrafted in New Hampshire. This is cozy in the winter and cool in the summer. Secluded off-grid home perfect for reconnecting with the natural world. The yurt has a spacious interior with over 300 sq ft, high ceilings, a wood burning stove, games for evenings in, and access to beautiful trails for days out. If you've never stayed in a yurt give it a try! In wintertime this is a one mile hike up. Located on Toad Hill, a remote 45 acre property surrounded by pristine forest in the heart of The White Mountains. There is lots to do and see in the area. Hike, bike, snowmobile or ski from the door to waterfalls, ponds, or just around the property in search of birds and wildlife. Take a day trip to Province or Mountain Pond for both swimming and fly fishing. Toad hill also host a summer music festival and has beautiful sculptures around the property. Perfect for people trying to get away from life and into nature! Please note that there is no running water and limited solar power electricity in this accommodation. Bring a few items including sleeping bags or sheets, pillowcases, and blankets as well as food and utensils, cookware, flashlights, and water or a water purifier. The host asks that guests practice "leave no trace ethics" during their visit. There is an outhouse located near the barn. In the winter car access is limited and guest will have to hike to their accommodations. ABOUT JUSTIN AND SARA We enjoy hosting and meeting new people at Toad Hill! Justin creates wood and stone sculptures on the property, hosts a music festival every summer, is a semi-professional photographer, and a professional saxophonist. Sara holds a Master of Science in Natural Science Education, is trained in survival skills, tracking, natural interpretation, and Montessori, and holds a B.A. in Theater and Art. We were both teachers for many years, Justin in Spain, teaching English and in the US, teaching Spanish, and Sara as the Director of Environmental Education and a Lead Montessori Instructor, and Lead Wilderness Instructor.
