The farm on Nedre Børve is from 1864 and is located looking out over the fjord "Sørfjorden" and the glacier Folgefonna. The old food storehouse hut is furnished into private and cozy bedroom. The charming, rustic buildings is carrying the farms and fjords history in them: the farm has hosted the norwegian composer Edvard Grieg In the main building, detached from the guests room, there is a complete, guests dedicated bathroom. The old smoke hut is made into a dining room and a small kitchen. The space The farm is a typical traditional farm of the area, currently being put into production of fruit again by your host. It is rich on cultural heritage, has interesting buildings, tools and equipment from the late 1800. The rental rooms is in two of the houses, one has been used for storing food and the other for storing wood. The atmosphere has the warmth of old handcraft, and the view and surrounding area is spectacular. Guest access The hut with the guests bedrooms are located next to the main house where you will find the bathroom trough a back door. The old smoke hut next door is made into a shared dining room and kitchen for cooking. During your stay We will be working around on the farm but will usually around if the guests need anything. Other things to note There is also excellent opportunities for trekking up the hills behind the farm. A popular destination is Børve Hovden. There you will get a full view over the fjord and surrounding mountains. Børve Hovden has rich history with a cultural heritage monument from the Viking age. A 10 min walk down by the fjord is Heit sauna sørfjorden where you can book a sauna with a beautiful view.
