Description
This solar off grid house was handcrafted by the owner using wood from the land and sits high atop a large private forest. It is breezy in the summer and cozy in the winter. The house looks out over the Connecticut river valley east toward the White Mountains of New Hampshire. You can see Mount Moosilauke, Mount Washington, Mount Lafayette and many others from the living room! There are hiking/mountain biking trails on the property and a swimming pond perfect for a dip on a warm day. The space There are stairs to the second floor but a back room on the first floor can also serve as a bedroom. The house is off grid, meaning it gets its electricity from the sun and a standby generator. There is plenty of electricity and everything is automated. We have an outdoor shower as well that has turned out to be a big hit! It is available seasonally. There is no WiFi at the house but cell phones work great and receive 4G service. Guest access Guest have access to most of the property and some neighboring land for hiking and biking. You can also swim in our private pond and play table tennis in the barn! Other things to note The house is at the end of a 1/2 mile fairly steep driveway but a Toyota Prius and other smaller cars have made it up without a problem. There is no wifi. Relax. Unhook! However, the cell signal is amazing. If you need wifi, there is a library, coffee shop and a coworking space all within 5 minutes of our house.
