Villa house in northern Kythira

The space Some people say that Kythira is "the hidden secret" of the Mediterranean Sea. The almost untouched nature beauty, the low population of the island and the small scale of tourist development create a nice and quiet environment for visitors. On the other hand historic influences are visible in every step you make. On the island were -according to mythology- Venus was born, Venecian houses and castles, old communities destroyed by pirates and English bridges and lighthouses are waiting to be discovered. The house is a recent rebuild old residence. It is located in the north part of the island, in the village of Karavas, on a hilly ground, near the coast. It's a 160 sq.m, two levels, fully equipped house. One seperate bedroom and two big comfortable "sleeping spaces" can easy accomodate up to six people. Although the house is strongly recommended for families and friends. In groundfloor (85 sq.m) there is a living room, dining space and a big kitchen together with a terrace were you can enjoy your breakfast facing the hills and the village. There is also a sleeping area and a small guest bathroom. Two balconies are provided on first floor (75 sq.m), one with excellent view to the hills and the sea and a second one facing the village church. There is also a living room, a sleeping place and a seperate bedroom. The house is 3km away from "Platia Ammos" and "Fourni" beaches but you have at least two more swimming options in a range of 5 km. You can take short or longer walks or you can bike early in the morning or late in the afternoon (two mountain bikes are provided in the house). Seven km south of Karavas you can reach the main village of Potamos. Super Market, Bank, Pharmacy and the Hospital of the island are there. There is also a local bazaar every Sunday. Five km south-east, by the sea is the big village of Agia Pelagia. Plenty of restaurants can provide a variety of very good food. The house was built from people that would like to live permanently in future. Is nice and a very good base to discover and enjoy a very nice island!
