The Wendy House a retro 1960s chalet by the sea

The Wendy House: a traditional 1960s cedar wood chalet that was renovated in 2017. Beautifully furnished in a luxurious yet 'Wendy House' style. Magical for children. Stuffed full of lovely vintage things. It is situated in a very sunny corner of a quiet family run site, 10 minutes stroll to the beach. Near great pubs, perfect after a beach walk. Warm and cosy. No WiFi have a detox: talk, walk, play games, re-charge, rest... I really do try and make it special for you, come and stay :) The space The Wendy House is a traditional 1960s chalet stuffed full of vintage and beautiful things, alongside some wonderful vintage photography of Heacham as a seaside resort in the 50s/60s. The Wendy House is a very peaceful space that allows you to 'unplug' from your busy world - we have no wifi... allowing you to detox from technology, recharge your batteries and be mindful of what's out there again... The Wendy House turns into The Winter Wendy House in October. I dress it with velvet cushions, fur throws, wintry bits and lots of candlelight (safe battery operated variety!) making it a very special place to get in the mood for this time of year. Norfolk is particularly beautiful in Autumn and Winter - the roads, beaches and pubs are very much quieter. The cabin is super cosy with thermostatically controlled electric radiators and the electric stove. Come and get all snugged up! I personally look after The Wendy House, from the messages you receive, right down to the cleaning and the laundry, I like it this way so I can ensure that when you arrive it is all looking its beautiful best. It is very suitable for families, friends, couples and a luxurious base for one... The Wendy House and The Summerhouse can be booked together for bigger group gatherings... I have taken my time renovating this little place which includes a beautiful natural slate floor to the kitchen and shower room, wood effect tiled shower, shutters to some of the windows, quality pocket sprung king size bed with beautiful bed linen - some pillowcases are gorgeous vintage ones. I have put black out blinds to both bedrooms to aid your sleep, and for little ones to sleep...giving you some quiet time! The shower room has a wood effect shower, slate floor, shutters to the windows, a sink and toilet, it also has a large heated towel rail to keep you cosy. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to make some lovely dinners..with carefully chosen crockery and tableware. I supply a basic welcome pack, tea, coffee etc. Electric fully programmable radiators will keep you warm when it gets chilly. The chalet receives sunshine all day, so you can bask in it whilst reading that book you have always wanted to read! We have a super comfy corner sofa to stretch out on. The veranda has outdoor lighting and very comfortable natural wicker furniture. The chalet is located in the far corner of the site, to the side of the chalet there is a great place for children to make dens...I have included things for a 'mud kitchen' to help them with their adventures. There are a selection of traditional games and family board games. My idea for this little place is to help create a traditional seaside family holiday, a quiet sharing space for friends, a romantic retreat for two or a luxurious break for one, all where lovely memories are made... I think it ticks all the boxes. Come and play house at The Wendy House! Guest access The chalet is all for you... Other things to note The Wendy House is on a site with other chalets, to get to it there is approximately 100 steps from the parking area to the front door. No dogs are allowed on the site - not my rules :( A basic welcome pack will be provided No smoking in the chalet please... If you wish to use my highchair please book this PRIOR to your arrival. Sadly due to Covid it is essential to bring your own travel cot I supply towels (not beach towels), tea towels, cleaning products, cloths, hand wash. I will make up the beds that will be used, and a spare pack of linen on top of any beds that are not used.
