Charming Cottage by the sea with private garden

Sea View is an historic detached cottage with stylish interiors in a mid-century/modern Scandi and coastal style, with private landscaped gardens. It is in the unspoilt seaside village of Dunwich, and just a short stroll from the beach and pub/restaurant. In the heart of the conservation area surrounded by some of the country's finest nature reserves, it is an ideal location for enjoying country and coastal activities from your doorstep. Southwold and Aldeburgh are both a short drive away. The space Sea View is an early Victorian detached estate cottage with a characteristic local style. Parking is easy all year round. It is extremely well equipped, with a log burning stove, lots of original features plus all the modern creature comforts including fast internet. The private garden, with lawned areas, was professionally designed and landscaped by a leading garden designer, and is equipped with garden furniture, loungers and BBQ. It is fully fenced and safe for children. The kitchen has all the equipment you could need; a real cook's kitchen. There are two reception rooms. A large dining/living room opens out on to the garden to form an indoor/outdoor space. It has a long dining table which can sit 8 people comfortably, a couch and a mobile Bose Bluetooth sound system . The other reception room is the main living room with 2 sofas and 2 armchairs; it is a cosy place to chat, read a book or watch TV. The 42” television has Apple TV with active accounts on Netflix, Amazon Prime etc. There is a wood burning stove and a good supply of books and DVDs. There is a shower room with WC upstairs, and downstairs there is a large bathroom with a free-standing bath, spacious walk-in rain shower and a WC. The house is equipped with central heating, water softener, fast internet, Wifi, Bose bluetooth speaker, DAB radio, Smart TV, DVD player, Smeg fridge/freezer, ‘Nespresso’ coffee machine, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and BBQ. The accommodation is comfortable for 6 people, and would ideally suit couples or a family of up to six. There are three bedrooms: one with a king size bed, one with a double bed , and a third bedroom with full sized bunk beds. The cottage is child friendly with a high chair, travel cot, toddler step, plastic tableware, toys and childrens books always at the property. There are wonderful walks from the door which include seashore, forest, marshland and heathland landscapes depending on which direction you set off! Sea View is a few doors away from The Ship pub and restaurant and approx 200m from the beach where you will find the famous Flora Tea Rooms and the Dunwich Sauna Box. Sea View has been the name of the cottage for over 150 years, and is still the postal address. In the intervening century trees have grown up and now the sea is mainly obscured from view. Guest access Guests have access to the entire space and garden. Parking is on the road and is easy all year round. Other things to note There is an automatic discount applied for bookings of 7 nights or more. Pure white 100% cotton bed linen and towels are provided. All duvets and pillows are non feather, allergy friendly. We try to supply logs etc for the first night for winter stays. There is a highchair and travel cot always at the house. The gardens are safe and enclosed. Please note that there is no fireguard and there is no child’s stair gate on the landing. We regret pets are not allowed at the property.
