Farmer's market and awesome thrift stores too. Guest access Driving up? We are an easy 2 1/4 hour ride from NYC. There's VIP parking for two cars and more if you need it. Go past our driveway 100 feet to the end of the row of bushes to the orange cones, and pull in on the left. Tell us in advance what hour you plan to arrive. Phone on your way up if you are delayed. (No cell service west of Woodstock.) We always prefer to greet you personally, but the yurt can be unlocked so you can let yourselves in. Free UCAT buses run local, and Pine Hill Trailways bus from NYC Port Authority can drop you off right on our road, about one mile from the house. Ask the bus driver to let you off on Broadstreet Hollow! Or make a plan with us to pick you up in the nearby hamlet of Phoenicia. Bring bikes--there's a fabulous 11-mile rail trail along the Ashokan reservoir. An absolute solitude wilderness nature hike begins a short walk up the road. Follow alongside the stream on an old logging path for miles if you like. Lots of wild mushrooms in season. Other things to note Let us know what hour you intend to arrive and call by phone from the way up if your arrival time changes. We will be home to check you in. Make a special arrangement if you must arrive while we are away. Travel time can vary and there's no cell service nearby, so don't wait until the last moment to call. VIP Yurt parking is on the left, 50 feet past our driveway. Stop at the orange cone and pull in on the left. The crystal clear pure water comes straight from our spring. it's UV purified, delicious and safe to drink. Please turn the water pump timer switch off when you are done using the water. The outdoor shower may not be usable in severely cold weather. More instructions are posted in the Yurt. To protect guests who are sensitive, we don't allow animals, smoking or spray products inside the yurt. Sorry, but no exceptions! We can provide a doghouse for licensed handicap service dogs. Avoid getting a ticket! No Speeding on our local roads! Observe the posted 55 speed limit on Route 28, which drops to 45 or 35 as you pass through some villages. Go less than 10mph over the limit, OK? You will have your privacy. Our house is about 100 feet away in case you need any assistance or feel like socializing. It's super quiet here at night, so respect and share the peaceful surroundings.
