Unique farm experience on an island

Welcome to our special place, Farm De Eenzaamheid, located on an idyllic island near Leiden. This is not an ordinary holiday spot – it is a farm in transition, where we are working on combining regenerative farming, nature conservation, and climate improvement. From the moment you take the boat ride, you move in sync with the rhythm of the farm. Recharge and regenerate. The space Our farm is located on an island, surrounded by the tranquility of nature and a beautiful polder landscape. The only way to get here is by boat – which makes this place extra special and creates the ultimate sense of escape. Once you leave the mainland, you find yourself in the rhythm of the island: a place where time and space feel different. The fully renovated summer house by the water accommodates 4-6 people and offers a stunning view of the water, either from the terrace or the swimming dock. On the ground floor, you'll find the kitchen, living room with a wood stove, and a bathroom. From the living room, you step directly into the garden. The first floor has two bedrooms: one with a double bed and the other with four single beds. There is a second bathroom and a large balcony. The entire house, garden, and balcony are fully at your disposal. You can also make use of the docks for swimming and docking a boat. Guest access The house is located on an island and is only accessible by boat. Upon arrival, you can park on the shore, and we will pick you up, or you can take the ferry from the neighbor. We will teach you how to row in one of the rowing boats, so you can then row to the mainland on your own. The island is also accessible by private boat, giving you the freedom to explore the island and its surroundings at your own pace. In addition to enjoying nature and the peaceful rhythm of the island, you can visit the farm and learn all about our research into regenerative farming. Swimming, rowing, or simply relaxing in the garden with a view of the water – it's all possible. Other things to note - The house is simple and minimally insulated, so it can be cold during the cooler months. The living room downstairs has a wood stove, but the bedrooms upstairs are not heated. - It is a good idea to bring your (large) groceries with you before arrival. For smaller groceries, you can use the rowing boat to visit the city or nearby farmers and makers. - The island and the farm are not suitable for everyone: you need to be open to farm life and not be startled by nature (such as spiders or other animals).
