The Borrowers: Fabulous Romantic Cottage for Two

Set in working farmland in rural Norfolk, our luxury retreat for two is just what you need to wind down. Close to some great pubs and approximately 40-50 minutes to the coast. The space Arrive as strangers, leave as friends! We offer total flexibility, so your break can start any day of the week, with just the requirement of a two-night minimum stay (three at Easter, during July and at Christmas and four during August). Check-in is 3pm and check-out is 10.30am. There is a welcome pack just waiting for you, including bread, jam, marmalade and milk together with a selection of teas, coffees and breakfast cereals – not to forget the flowers. Please advise us if you have any dietary requirements or allergies. There are also apples, plums, pears, strawberries and cherries to pick in season. If you want to arrange an extra special treat for someone on arrival then just let us know and we can work together to make your celebration event more memorable. The Borrowers' is set in beautiful rural countryside in the heart of Norfolk. Situated in Banham, Norfolk, between Thetford and Norwich just South of Attleborough. If you are looking for high levels of quality in a luxuriously furnished and well equipped cottage with a superking oak sleigh bed, soft pillows, thick duvets, free wifi, Alexa and Amazon Prime, Smart TV/DVD, ceramic hob, granite worktops, combination microwave, full sized electric oven, fridge, freezer, coffee maker, juicers, blenders and laundry facilities then we feel sure it will easily meet your requirements. All linen and towels are included alongside basic household items such as foil, clingfilm, washing up liquid, scrubbers, rubber gloves, dishwasher tablets, etc – nothing more irritating than if you have to go out and buy these! There is underfloor heating in the living room and ensuite bathroom (which has both a bath and large separate shower cubicle) to make sure you are cosy on the cold evenings and a fabulous 'log' fire to sit by. You can bird watch from the decking and enjoy the antics of the regular visitors - sparrows, tits, wrens, swifts, collared doves, wood pigeons, gold finches, wood peckers and robins all feed from the various stations dotted around the gardens. The cottage is ideal for couples - babies and toddlers can be accommodated in the cot provided - but as there is only one bedroom it is not suitable for older children. It does have the facility to be booked alongside our other two bedroom cottage (The Bees Knees) offering accommodation for larger groups. Pets are also welcome. The beauty of Olde Farm is that it is within peaceful surroundings on a quiet road overlooking farming pasture yet is within easy reach of Banham Zoo, the Snetterton Racing circuit Thetford Forest, Diss market town and Norwich. The nearest coast is around 30 minutes drive away at either Southwold or Aldeburgh. It is also within easy reach of the Norfolk Broads and the North Norfolk Coastline Come and experience Norfolk's famous huge skies, embrace the tranquility with fabulous walks from the door, and ducks and moorhens nesting in the pond area. Artists - Olde Farm Cottages has a wonderful large pond ideal for artists to appreciate and capture nature at its best. There are plenty of places to set up your easel by the water to paint, draw or photograph the abundant wildlife, seasonal flowers, and mother nature herself. Meditation - Whether it is making the most of the peaceful pond setting or using the gazebo or large lawns, there is plenty of scope to carry out meditation, aerobics, yoga or other forms of relaxation. We love the setting, the wildlife, the huge skies and the tranquility that living in our little bit of Norfolk Paradise affords us, yet we are close enough to major towns and the beautiful Norfolk Broads to make your holiday as active or tranquil as you wish. We are about a mile from the nearest shops and pubs - so close enough to walk should you seek the exercise. There is very limited public transport in the immediate vicinity but there is a taxi rank at Diss station. There is ample parking at the cottage and some excellent walks close by - walking books can be found in the cottage. Guest access As the cottage is self-contained you will have access to all rooms and amenities - combination microwave, ceramic hob, fan assisted oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washing machine, coffee maker, food mixer, toaster, sandwich maker - you name it I think you will find it in a cupboard! You are welcome to use any part of the gardens, outdoor gazebo and furniture. There is a large pond, fabulous to gaze out on in the morning from The Lookout, watching the resident moorhens and ducks. We have a large BBQ hut which seats 10 comfortably, so no matter what the weather brings you can have a bbq in comfort! If you have friends who live locally, invite them over to join you - just let us know so that we can pre-book it for you! Other things to note We have tried to make our cottages the ones that we would want to stay in and we do try to go that extra mile to make sure that our guests have a wonderful stay with us.
