Unique farmhouse built in a traditional Cycladic rural landscape in Apano Meria in Syros, overlooking the Western Cyclades and the sunset. It is located in the organically certified #ktima_pomonia with centuries-old olive trees, vineyard with local grape varieties, fig trees, pear trees, almond trees, fragrant roses, aromatic plants, sage, thyme and so much more on terraces with dry stone walls. The space The farmhouse consists of two rooms. In one there is a kitchenette and a double bed (15sqm), while in the second there is a toilet and shower (6sqm). Outside there is a 30sqm courtyard covered with a reed roof. It overlooks Gyaros, Tzia and Kythnos, where the sun sets in the afternoons, giving wonderful colors to the horizon. The north wind cools it in the summer, making it the ideal refuge for getaways. The surrounding estate is cultivated in winter and summer, with all kinds of vegetables. Guests, depending on the season, can taste local products. Guest access #ktima_pomogna, and the farmhouse, are carefully hidden from the human eye. You can only find them if you reach the settlement of Papouri, in Apano Meria in Syros, park on the street, outside the church of Agios Panteleimon, leave the car and walk, west, for five hundred meters (5 minutes), on a path surrounded by dry stone walls. When you reach the estate, at the end of the path, you find yourself in a unique landscape, which captivates you and makes you feel like you are alone with the creator. We aspire to make the farmhouse and the estate zero energy consumption. For this reason, energy (lighting and refrigerator) is produced by 2 solar panels. Cooking is done on two gas-powered stoves. At the same time there is a barbecue, grill, but also two wood-burning wood. One big one and one smaller one, especially for pizza. Laundry can be done either traditionally by hand, or in the local communal laundry in Ermoupolis (at our own risk). Other things to note The guest should be aware that: When it gets dark on the estate, the scenery becomes magical, as it is illuminated by the light of the moon and the stars. The less the moon, the more the starlight. In the summer, friends often gather around the outdoor stone barbecue (grill and wood oven), for appetizers, wine and tsipouro. In their free time, guests can participate in: a) on a hiking trip, from the estate to the beach of Aetos or the beach of Varvarousa, one of the most beautiful on the island.
