Beautiful fly-fishing holiday house in Dullstroom

Otter’s Cove is a 6 sleeper unit with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The 1st bedroom (queen bed) has an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub. The 2nd (queen bed) and 3rd bedroom (2x single beds) share a bathroom with a shower This exceptional unit has an open plan kitchen, dining, and living room area as well as a scullery with dishwashing machine The covered patio has a built in braai and 2 seating areas. A Lovely stone boma is situated in front of the unit, ideal for a nice open air braai. The space Blue Crane Farm is an phenomenal fly fishing destination with two beautiful manicured and well stocked trout dams. Our big dam is an impressive 9 hectares in size and has a number of jetties to make the fly fishing an even more enjoyable experience. This beautiful venue offers phenomenal scenery with free roaming game species such as springbuck, blesbuck, zebra, hartebeest, fallow deer and vaal rhebuck. The birdlife is exceptional with a number of of endangered species such as the Blue Crane and Crowned Cranes that nests on the farm on a regular basis. The accommodation on the farm consist of 7 lovely self-catering units, ranging from our smallest 2 sleeper cottage to our large 8 sleeper houses. In total the farm can accommodate 40 guests which makes Blue Crane Farm the ideal venue for a small or large group booking. The units offer privacy and are waterfront stands offering amazing views. The farm is situated approximately 10mins drive from Dullstroom town and is easily accessible from the main Belfast / Dullstroom road. The gravel road leading from the main road to the farm entrance is well maintained and any low clearance vehicles can access these roads. Guest access The venue offers beautiful scenery with free roaming game species such as springbuck, blesbuck, zebra, hartebeest and vaal rhebuck. We offer all our guest the opportunity to enjoy nature by hiking on the farm. The farm border is approximately 6km if a circular route is taken. There are a number of interlinked farm roads over the hill that is lovely for hiking, cycling or jogging. Taking a stroll around the big dam will be close to 1.5km-2km. The difficulty would be easy, all walks are on well kept paths with no climbing involved. There are 2 dams on the farm where guests can enjoy fly fishing. Both dams are stocked with rainbow trout. The big 9 hectare dam is also stocked with brown trout. Other things to note Please note that Blue Crane Farm is a fly fishing only venue. Catch and release. Bass rods and equipment are strictly prohibited. We rely on the honesty of our guests. Should you wish to keep fish caught, the cost is R100 per fish. Wood is sold at R25 a bag.
