Candlestick Cottage

Kandelaars Cottage is situated on a working ostrich farm and is nestled between the hills of the beautiful, serene Karoo valley of Kandelaarsrivier, which is just under 10 minutes from Oudtshoorn. The Cottage is tucked away just far enough to have a countryside feel, yet it is easily accessible for guests traveling to and from their desired destinations. The surroundings of hilltops, the Kandelaars River and neighboring farmlands all add to this quaint cottage's unmistakable charm. The space The nature-lover and outdoor enthusiast can enjoy hiking and biking trails when stepping off the veranda, set out through the untouched Karoo landscapes where bird-life and small antelope are in abundance. We also offer a private guided tour of our ostrich farm. Guest access Guests will be able to access the whole property as they’ll be staying privately on the farm. They are walking distance from our ostrich camps. Guests also gain access to the hiking trail that leaves directly from the property at the back gate. Other things to note The cottage is situated on a working ostrich farm, therefore a guided farm tour is available. The owner and farmers also work around the property daily so guests will always feel safe and in close proximity to people, whilst being quite remote and having privacy.
