The Hideaway Cottage

The Cottage is a self-contained annexe within the grounds of our home but separate from the main house. It has its own entrance, small garden, patio area & parking for one car only. The cottage is a great place to stay while you explore the beautiful Sussex countryside and coast. The historic town of Lewes is within a 10-minute drive, Uckfield 10 minutes, & Brighton is 30 minutes away. Trains: From London-Uckfield/Lewes We also have 2 shepherd's huts which use the same driveway as the Cottage. The space The Cottage is a self-contained annexe much like a home from home, with everything you would need for a short stay. The Cottage is in the grounds of our home so you may see us occasionally. We are in a rural position on the outskirts of our small village. Local walks, village pub and village farm shop for amenities. A floor plan is available within the photos. The living room area has plenty of space to relax. ▪︎Open plan living from kitchen to living room. ▪︎Patio doors lead out to a paved area at the side of the cottage. ▪︎A gravelled & lawn area at the front of the cottage has seating and a BBQ. (We do not provide charcoal and the garden is not fully enclosed. See pictures) ▪︎Smart tv ▪︎Small workspace On winter nights, after a long day exploring, curl up and read a book in front of the wood burning stove. Please bring your own bedding. Bathroom. ▪︎Double shower unit ▪︎Storage ▪︎Towels provided Guest access The Cottage has 1 parking space outside the Cottage. Additional cars are not permitted. Please make sure that access to the field is clear at all times. Guests in the Shepherd Huts will use the field gate as access on foot. We do use farm machinery and we would ask if you could stay within the private garden of The Cottage. Other things to note The TV is a Smart TV. If you wish to watch Disney+, Netflix, Prime etc your welcome to sign into your account. Please remember to sign out when you leave. We have a septic tank. We are unable to use harsh chemicals like bleach or antibacterial products directly down the drains/toilet. We cannot accommodate early check-in or a late checkout.
