Front reception room (the round room) enjoys views of the river Yare, and working boats along it, and beyond to Great Yarmouth and the North Sea. Whilst the rear of the property catches the evening sun and sunsets. The space Koolunga House is a beautiful Georgian town centre villa built in 1826 and is grade II listed, and divided into 7 apartments. Our apartment is the penthouse. It is a spacious and light space consisting of a unique round observatory room/radio/reading room, large lounge diner with large private balcony, double bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. The private large balcony has outdoor seating. The house is situated on Gorleston High Road, overlooking the river Yare with views of passing large working ships and smaller boats (and the sea in the distance) and a short walk along the high street from the towns' many restaurants, bars and shops. Also offers views to the windfarm and Yarmouth. Other residents live within the house but we find both the house and its grounds/garden generally a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. We are in the process of restoring this lovely Georgian property, and whilst serviceable, the doors to the balcony and the kitchen doors are a little dated and will be upgraded in the coming period as our budget allows. Your stay will help us achieve this. We thank you for your understanding. We have a strict rule that use of the apartment is for the Airbnb guests only. This limits wear and tear and disruption to other apartments. The round room (lounge 1) will be closed 1st Nov to 1St April each year. Views to the river are only available from this room. A lovely unusual character property which we fell in love with on sight! A great and more spacious alternative to a hotel room. Other things to note The building is shared with other residents but is typically extremely peaceful with a friendly atmosphere. The property does have wifi (although it can be a bit patchy in some rooms of the apartment.)
