Spectacular sea view, 2 min walk to the beach

Modern and spacious, laid out in three levels, our house is the ideal summer accommodation for people that seek out tranquility and calmness, away from the hustle and bustle of civilization. The house, just 2 min walk from the beach, is perched on the west hill of the village and offers amazing sea views as the Asterousia mountains tower over the fishing village. The house 's amenities cover almost everything you may need during a relaxing stay in this peaceful hideaway. The space The village itself is quite isolated, nested amidst the wild and barren landscape of Asterousia mountains, a Natura preserve for many indigenous wild species including the very rare Gypaetus barbatus. Since the new road was commisioned- three years ago - access for visitors is much easier and safer. The scenery as you drive down the mountain from the village Paranymfoi is breathtaking, so get your camera ready! As is common for South Cretan terrain morphology, that last part of the serpentine-like road is a steep descend dotted with hairpin turns, so take care to keep your eyes on the road (that goes for the driver) and make the descent slowly. As you approach the village you are able to see the house on the opposite hillside. Just follow the only road that goes through the village and you'll reach your destination. The house is newly built and occupied by the owner for a couple of weeks only during the summer. So you may expect to find it in pristine condition.The house is equipped with air conditioning, TV, board games and books (english and greek). The ground floor consists of an open plan kitchen with all the modern comforts e.g. table, oven, fridge with freezer and all the appliances that you may need for breakfast and lunch/dinner preparation (e.g. kettle, mixer, coffee maker etc). On the same floor you 'll find a spatious lounge with three built-in sofas and a private balcony with beautiful views. As you ascend the marble staircase you reach the top floor and the loft-type master bedroom with a king size bed (vast room for a baby/toddler crib also), a large closet and an ensuite bathroom. The private veranda on the top floor offers amazing panoramic views of the Lybian Sea and the mountain. The lower floor has a second bedroom with two twin beds and a larger bathroom. It exits into a large covered veranda with view that can be also accessed by the owners of the twin maisonette, though it rarely is. For guests with small children keep in mind that the stairs are equiped with safe gates from the upper towards the lower floor. The main beach is practically 2 min walk down some stairs. There you will find some local tavernas and cafes in addition to a mini market (open on July and August, partly on September) for basic supplies. In case you need something specific better make your buys from large super-markets once you reach the villages of Harakas or Pyrgos, before you start the ascent on Asterousia. However, make note that if you require something particular that is not available at the mini market, you have the option to order it from the lovely lady on the counter and possibly have it within a couple of days. Untouched beaches can be also found east and west of the village at the most within 20 - 30 min of easy walk (for nature lovers ) with most being also accessible by car. Odds are that - depending on the season- you will end up having your own private beach. The house is perfect for couples, nature lovers and families who are looking to explore the pristine and rough coasts of South Crete in a peaceful place where time slows down. The Heraklion airport is ca. 90 min away. Other things to note The mini market is open every day (usually 9 a.m - 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. or continously during high season) for the following months: July & August. On September it operates mostly during the first two weeks and later than that you can always drive to Harakas or Pyrgos (20 min) to reach a super market.
