Kitchen facilities (combi microwave oven, separate hob, pots/pans, and a starter pack of tea/coffee/milk/sugar). Relax in bed and soak in the expansive hill views through the large patio doors. 🔭 Skye's Dark Skies & The Aurora Borealis Our remote setting in Glendale ensures minimal light pollution, making it one of the top locations in the UK for stargazing and witnessing the incredible Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights). Winter Wonder: The long, dark, and clear nights from late September to late March provide the optimal conditions to spot the "mirrie dancers." Front-Row Seat: You can gaze at the spectacular celestial show right from your private veranda, or—in Aurora 3—directly from your bed through the large picture window. Even when the aurora is not visible, the night sky is fantastic for seeing the Milky Way. 🌅 Hiking Adventures & Spectacular Sunsets Aurora is ideally positioned for both romantic breaks and adventure holidays. Neist Point Lighthouse Walk (Short/Moderate): The iconic walk to the lighthouse starts nearby. It is an out-and-back route (approx. 1.5 - 2 miles, 1-2 hours) that descends steep steps (with a handrail) to the headland. Along the path, you'll be treated to stunning views of high cliffs and the chance to spot marine life. Waterstein Head Circuit (Longer): For more challenging hikers, circular walks exploring Waterstein Head and the surrounding coast offer incredible panoramic views. Skye’s Best Sunset: As the most westerly point on Skye, Neist Point Lighthouse is renowned as an incredibly popular spot for sunset viewing. Your retreat's sea-view veranda is the perfect private alternative to relax and watch the sun dip dramatically into the Atlantic Ocean after a day of exploring. Aurora is your perfect base to explore all that the North West of Skye has to offer, including the nearby local three chimneys restaurant. Guest access You have your own designated private parking on site. Other things to note we have opted in to the covid cleaning protocols. I am a staff nurse and have implemented strict cleaning procedures between guests . All bedding is washed at 90 degrees, the duvets and pillows are alternated between guests, to allow time to breath and these are steamed, and sprayed, all fixtures and fittings and touch points, lights, switches ect. are wiped with high grade antibacterial wipes. All cutlery is dishwashed on a high temperature. The mattress and curtains are steamed and sprayed with antibacterial spray and the floor is washed with a high grade bleach. I hope these policies and procedures implemented will place your mind at rest . We also have all cleaning products in the accommodation for your use, as well as high grade hand sanitizer. We have a giftshop called triskele it's a small cabin, it's a family run business and there is usually some one there between 09.00 hrs to 17.00hrs.
