Description

Welcome to The Nook, our two-bedroom self-catering cottage in the peaceful village of East Ferry. The Nook backs onto vast, stunning farmlands. There are miles of beautiful woodlands just a short drive away for countryside walks. The Nook is about rest and relaxation for couples and families. Leave feeling like you have recharged your batteries. As a courtesy to our neighbors, no adult groups are accepted. The property boasts two bedrooms, a private hot tub, and your own cinema room. The space The Nook @ East Ferry is the perfect chocolate-box cottage next door to our house, ideal for a family of four or even two couples looking to relax. It is not suitable for adult groups wanting to party. We do not allow dogs (not even well-behaved ones). A welcome pack will be provided upon arrival, including some basics like tea and coffee, bread, eggs, cereals, milk, butter, jam, biscuits, and a few other treats. The cottage is ideal for anyone who likes the tranquility of the countryside. It is the perfect space to relax, curl up with a good book, take a woodland walk, or go for a cycle ride on the quiet country lanes. We also offer secure lock-up storage for sports equipment. If you are more of a homebody, then perhaps you would prefer a night in with Netflix in the snug. You can even make use of your own separate cinema room to watch a movie with access to Netflix, Prime, and Disney+. If the weather is bad, you can hang out in the conservatory or play some of our board games. But if the weather is good, then outside the cottage has a dining table, swing chair, and bistro set for you to enjoy. Not to mention the private hot tub, which is perfect for both summer and winter. It is not overlooked and is the perfect spot for a romantic night under the stars. Smoking is only permitted in the patio area. **Strictly no smoking or glass in the hot tub area at any time**. The tub cannot be used after 10 p.m. This is to limit noise for neighbors and for guest safety. All bedding and towels are provided. WIFI Codes for the wifi are inside the Nook. There is also a QR code to the left of the W.C for quick connection. WE ARE A RURAL PROPERTY, WITH RURAL INTERNET. There is nothing super fast about our Internet, but it's good enough to run what we need. Just please don't be surprised if there are outages. It's something you need to expect from rural properties. Guest access **We no longer accept groups of all adults. Only couples and families are accepted.** You will have access to the entire cottage and outdoor area with space to park up to three vehicles. If you require a washing machine or dryer, we can make arrangements for you to use ours, as we live right next door. Although we live on-site, we will not be in your way, and our place is entirely separate from yours. There is access to secure lock-up facilities for sports equipment if required. There are no shops, pubs or any other facilities in East Ferry, but everything you need can be found in nearby villages and towns, including Scotter, Gainsborough, and Scunthorpe. If you like pubs, there are pubs within a 10-minute drive that also serve great food. Some local takeaways deliver for a fee. Scotter has a wonderful Indian restaurant/takeaway, a Chinese takeaway, and a local chippy that also serves burgers, pizzas, and kebabs. The area is popular with cyclists and anglers. If you are a keen golfer, a short drive can take you to courses in Gainsborough and Holme Hall. There is a dairy ice cream parlor in the village of Blyton serving cream teas, which is always worth a visit, along with a lovely antique shop nearby. Lincoln is about an hour away with beautiful shops, the cathedral, and eateries to visit during your stay. Other things to note The Nook is aptly named. It's a quirky little cottage with **low beams and steep stairs**, so beware if you're 6 feet tall. You could come a cropper if you're not looking where you're going. Children, in particular, would have to be careful on the staircase. We do have a stair gate we can lend you if you're worried. The patio area also has some uneven flagstones and is raised above the driveway, so be careful. Wi-Fi is available. There's a downstairs cloakroom that's handy during the day. There's a conservatory overlooking the garden, the perfect place to curl up and read a book. There are blankets for evenings in the garden, and outdoor lighting for night dining or having a glass of wine.. There is a lawn in front of our house at our place where families with children are welcome to play if we are not around. There is no access to the road when the gates are closed. Feel free to leave them open if you go out with the car. That way, it will be easier when you return. **Smoking is permitted only in the patio area.** We live right next door, so if you need anything, we are seconds away. However, we will generally stay out of your way so that you can enjoy the peace and relaxation that The Nook offers.
