Cottage by the water in secluded nature location

Welcome to our cottage with a private beach, jetty, and rowing boat at the end of a small village road, surrounded by untouched forests and stunning water views in the Finnish archipelago. We provide a fully-furnished house, with a wood-heated sauna. Take a a dip in the sea, enjoy the the birdlife and the relaxing peacefulness. Your connection with nature, yourself and your loved ones starts here. The space To take a dip in the bay under the stars after a hot wood-fired sauna is a priceless experience. Paddle out with the kayak in the morning sun to the songs of the birdlife. If you are lucky, you can see a moose, some deer, or other animals while strolling in the forest. If you stay during autumn, you will be greeted by abundant wild berries and delicate mushrooms. This cottage is also the perfect place for working remotely, writing a book or finishing your research article. The cottage consists of two small houses with three bedrooms. The houses are surrounded by nature and overlook the bay. Kayaks are included in your stay, free of charge. At the start of 2025, we have one double and one single, but this is subject to change if there are issues with the kayaks. We charge you 15€/person for bed sheets, bath towels, hand towels and sauna towels. The property has four separate buildings: the main house, a sauna house, a garage and a cosy outdoor toilet. The cottage is well-isolated for year-round usage. The property is the last house on a small village road and is a secluded nature location. The main house (40m2) has a sunny south-facing veranda overlooking the water: - 2 bedrooms for four people, one double bed, + 2 bunk beds in a second bedroom, (most people find these 90cm width bunk beds ok, some might prefer more extensive beds). If you need an optional bed, two people can sleep on the sofa bed in the living room (but in that case, be prepared for the house to be very crowded). - The kitchen is an open kitchenette, with the following equipment: 2 electric cooking plates, oven, microwave oven, refrigerator, drip coffee machine, plates, bowls, utensils etc. - Natural spring-fed water supply, hot and cold running water - Toilet: Since the season of 2025, we have a invested in a standard indoor water toilet for your convenience. - Spacious veranda with water views, chairs and tables. - A small, efficient wood-burning stove in the middle of the cottage. There are also electrical radiators if needed. Sauna house (16 m2) with a veranda, also overlooking the water: - Wood-fired sauna renovated 2022 for four people with shower and a separate dressing room. - Private entrance to a workspace with a desk, a chair, and a bed (100 cm). This is ideal for anyone needing to focus on work or studies, or for teenagers needing a place of their own. - A jetty, by the private sand beach where you can jump into the bay as part of your sauna experience. Garage house: - A small barbecue, wood logs storage, life vests and some other stuff :) If you are fortunate enough to stay during midsummer, the local village offers a very picturesque celebration. Guest access Outdoor facilities: - Small sandy beach suitable for children with a private landing jetty - A outdoor fireplace by the water, surrounded by fixed sitting benches. Perfect for cooking sausages or marshmallows. You can also find a small and a bigger portable barbecue in the garage. - Rowing boat to explore the bay, fishing or picnics on an island in the bay (7km) Kayaks: We are passionate kayakers and our older kayaks are available at the cottage free for you to use. Bikes: If you would like to use bikes, there are several bike rental points on the Korpo island, the closest being next to the grocery store. Plot description: - Garage with outdoor equipment, bicycle storage and wood for the sauna and the indoor fireplace, and the wood is free of charge. - More parking space than what you need Getting here: - With car. Detailed driving instructions are provided when you have made the booking. To encourage our guests to travel green, we offer free nighttime charging of electric cars. If you want to charge outside of that, it's available for a fee. - Bus + rental bike. There is a bus service a few times per day with a bus stop just next to both the bike rental and the grocery store. The last stretch is just a few kilometres. If you're interested in this option, we're happy to provide you with more info. - Bus + taxi. Get off at the bus stop next to the grocery store, buy your groceries before getting into the taxi. Other things to note Cleaning is NOT included, meaning you shall clean the cottage before leaving. To help you out, you'll find a cleaning list in the cottage that is straightforward to follow. If you do not want to do the cleaning, please let us know before check-in, and we can arrange cleaning for a fee of 150 €. Before you arrive, we will ensure that the cottage is up to standards after the previous guests have left, making sure that you get a pleasant experience. We are three siblings who share responsibility for this cottage. We primary speak Swedish and English, but one of us also speaks Finnish and German. We can also give personal tips on what to see in Helsinki or Åland Island, as two of us live there. We can also give personal tips about many of the islands in the archipelago and Turku. We are very keen to make people from all backgrounds feel welcome. However, the premises are not accessible for wheelchairs as there are small stairs with three steps to the main building. We hope to provide better accessibility in the future. As this is a non-smoking accommodation that doesn't allow pets, we hope you are helping us to keep this cottage to continue to be accessible for people with allergies.
