Luxury Country Cottage with Hot Tub

The Stable House is a luxuriously converted 2 bedroom cottage in the medieval hamlet of Sookholme. It is very close to Sherwood Forest, Clumber Park, Hardwick Hall, Chatsworth House, historic Edwinstowe and a great number of other local beauty spots. A short drive away from the peak district, it is very private with its own fully fenced, dog friendly garden. A great short break destination surrounded by some beautiful walking and cycling routes including Route 6 and Sherwood Pines. The space The Stable House has everything you could wish for to enjoy a romantic relaxing break, with underfloor heating, original beams and stone walls. A tranquil garden and private patio with hot tub and a charcoal BBQ (please note BBQ briquettes are not provided). The coffee machine uses Tassimo pods (a selection is provided for you to enjoy). Guests will be welcomed with a complimentary welcome basket on arrival. Guest access Parking with an EV charger is dedicated to the property and is immediately at the front door. Guests have access to the whole house and the fenced garden area. Other things to note If you choose to bring bikes we have a secure lockable uncovered compound for storage. We appreciate that you have probably selected this property because it has a hot tub. The hot tub is regularly maintained and unless specifically advised at the time of a short notice booking will be working. In the unlikely event that during your stay, there is a failure, we cannot always guarantee a same day fix due to availability of the engineers/parts. In these very unusual circumstances we set a policy that for every staying night that the hot tub is unavailable for use during your stay, we will refund a set figure of £20. This will constitute a term of our booking and our refund policy and is non-negotiable. We are passionate about our environment and eco credentials which is why we chose Simpley Natural bathing products for their ecological and therapeutic values not only encouraging our guests relaxation during their stay, but also supporting a local business whose values mirror our own. As we are off grid and have water treatment plants taking away the waste, we use only natural soap for our laundry and do not use artificial softeners on bed linens and towels. We air dry whenever possible and tumble towels to finish and soften so guests are assured as natural and chemical free fabrics as possible limiting any possible allergies or sensitivities. We only make up one bed when booked by a single couple but if both rooms are required we require advance notice of a minimum 3 days. We cannot guarantee to be available to provide addition bedding if we do not receive the required notice. We have a no drugs policy within our properties and surrounding grounds including cannabis in whatever form, including smoking. Should the property be left with an excessive amount of cleaning and clearing of rubbish or excessive cleaning to the hot tub, an additional cleaning fee of £50 per hour shall be charged. Additionally, as we provide high quality white bedding and our house rules state “no pets on beds” an additional laundering fee at £25 per bed shall be charged if there are mud marks left on the bedding after a pet has stayed as this is extremely difficult to remove. Please note that as this property is over 200 years old and constructed of stone and exposed beams there are certain times of the year i.e. the autumn mating season, when the presence of spiders and their webs are more noticeable. Our best endeavours will never completely eradicate them but we try our very best to keep them to a minimum.
