Description
Open living/kitchen/diner with vaulted ceiling and luxury wood burning stove. Flooded with light from skylight, double height window and quirky stable door. Comfortable double bedroom. Secluded and peaceful location near charming limestone Derbyshire dales village of Kirk Ireton in farm complex. Long reaching views from garden down picturesque valley. Relaxing haven with trees rustling outside; resident owls, swallows and bats. Close to Carsington Water and easy access to Peaks. The space Covered porch entrance (with nesting swallows) down two steps into entrance hall with same floor access to living room, bedroom and bathroom. Open plan living room. This is a bright airy room with brand new HETAS registered wood burning stove (starter fuel pack provided during colder weather), bed settee (bed linen provided on request) kitchen units, double fan oven, 4 ring hob, microwave and fridge. Oak dining table and 3 chairs (high chair available on request) near stable door (second entrance to holiday let without steps from parking area). TV and DVD player. WiFi available but unreliable! The rural network is poor at times. Limited mobile network too I’m afraid. Spacious and comfortable double bedroom. Bed linen and towels provided. Child’s cot available on request. Bathroom with electric shower over bath, toilet and washbasin. Outside: a rustic bench on the doorstep to soak up the morning sun with a morning coffee. Ample private parking in farmyard in front of barns. Mature trees including silver birch providing natural shade. Small table and chairs positioned for a drink with a view. The green cushions are for outdoor use so please feel free to take these outside during your stay. Swallows, owls and more regular garden birds spotted and heard daily. There are a pair of buzzards who cross the drive and nest in the neighbouring woodland. We also have bats living in our conservatory roof so these can be seen easily at dusk swooping around. Ducks and a heron visit main farm house pond on occasion too. Guest access Just as you enter Tinkerley Lane look out for a long white gravel drive up the hillside. Take this almost to the end turning right just before the wooden gate and park in the yard in front of the barns. Go through the metal gate on your left and make your way towards the farm house. On entering the covered porch look for a door on the right. This is the annexe and your holiday home. The garden space occupies what was once the farmyard (both gravel and grass) up to the laurel tree hedges. The small white table and chairs are yours to use and you can move them to your preferred position in the farmyard. Other things to note Please note there is poor mobile phone reception at the house so please download the instructions before arrival! We do have WiFi but it can be intermittent. We and our neighbours all have dogs which are often allowed to roam around. They are all friendly but can be overly so if you don’t like dogs!
