Casa Cangrejo Xcalak Lodge

Casa Cangrejo is a small lodge on Xcalak beach (5 km from Belize), the southernmost point in Quintana Roo. The Lodge consists of four oceanfront modules. One of them is a small house with two bedrooms, a dining room, and a full kitchen. Another module consists of two fully equipped bedrooms with AC, a Palapa Lodge, and a terrace on the beach, all facing the ocean. NOTE: RENT is per BEDROOM and number of people. Only the House Module has a "Kitchen" .. The space XCALAK IS A SPECTACULAR MARINE RESERVE (NATURAL PROTECTED AREA), VERY DIFFERENT FROM THE BEACHES OF CANCUN AND TOURIST AREAS OF RIVIERA MAYA. IT IS A RUSTIC, REMOTE AND NATURAL PLACE. WE DO NOT HAVE THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF A TOURIST DESTINATION. DUE TO CLIMATE CHANGE AND CHANGES IN MARINE CURRENTS IN RECENT YEARS, IT IS LIKELY THAT YOU WILL HEAR ABOUT SARGASSUM ON THE BEACHES (MAINLY FROM APRIL TO OCTOBER). THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN FIGHTED FOR A LONG TIME BUT CANNOT BE ERADICATED. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU CHECK IF THIS IS THE DESTINATION YOU ARE LOOKING FOR, THE CLIMATE, AND THE SARGASSUM SITUATION BEFORE MAKING YOUR RESERVATION THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Guest access You will have access to all the common areas; we offer MEAL service (prior contracting). Full breakfasts, snacks and lunch/dinner, fresh fish, lobster, pasta, salads. If you are looking for a room with a KITCHEN, ASK FOR the Casa Azul Module BEFORE BOOKING. The use of the KITCHEN in Palapa is EXCLUSIVE for the Lodge, not for GUESTS. We offer ALL-INCLUSIVE food service. Ask. The use of the dock, the Palapa, terrace and kayaks is for the EXCLUSIVE use of all guests. You may find other guests at the Lodge during your stay. Beach towels are for use inside the Lodge only. IMPORTANT: Different RESERVATIONS DO NOT SHARE ROOMS WITH OTHER RESERVATIONS. RESERVATIONS and COSTS are per number of guests and these will be accommodated in one or more ROOMS of 3, 4 people, depending on the SIZE OF THE GROUP/ RESERVATION. NEVER SHARE A BEDROOM WITH OTHER RESERVATIONS. If the Reservation is for 2, 3 or 4 people, they will be assigned ONE OR TWO ROOMS DEPENDING ON AVAILABILITY. If you need to DIVIDE the reservation into separate ROOMS, you will need to REQUEST IT BEFORE MAKING THE RESERVATION, AND FOR OCCUPANCY REASONS THE COST MAY VARY AND WILL ALSO BE SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY. Remember that Normal Reservations are Per Person / Night. Thank you very much. Other things to note Xcalak is a remote and rustic place, the water used is from rainwater collection and brought from a Cenote near the village so saving water is paramount, the water is alkaline but very clean. Nearby doctors / hospitals are 1.30 hrs away in the city of Chetumal. Or 2.5 hours in Tulum. Xcalak is the ideal place for fly fishing and activities such as diving, snorkeling and sea kayaking. The nightlife in the village is minimal... few restaurants/bars.
