Quiet but easy reach of the Broads, the Coast and plenty of National Trust properties, good walking and cycling routes and great pubs/eateries. Our local friendly pub is 3 minutes away. Ideal for two couples or a family. A perfect place for nature lovers, bon viveurs, birders, walkers, cyclists and simply those in need of a relaxing break. The space There has been a Mill at Itteringham since the Domesday Book. The current mill building dates from 1778 and was originally converted into a residence by Lord and Lady Walpole in 1938. The cottages are in a converted barn opposite the Mill. The whole property sits in a 4.6 acres site which has the River Bure running through it. Much of the acreage is garden. Itteringham Mill is a renewable energy demonstrator site with micro-hydro-turbine, water source heat pump and solar panels. Guest access Guests have full use of the Mill's extensive gardens. Please note that the river is unfenced, not especially deep, but contains much soft silt, there is also a siphonic hydro-turbine so children need to be supervised. Please do not use the Mill's wooden deck overlooking the millpond without invitation.
