Also downstairs there is a large sitting room with a wood burner and a bathroom which has a walk in shower. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one double and a single. In the winter months this is a cosy place to stay with the woodburner and underfloor heating. The cottage is in Hampshire countryside, 1/4 mile from some of the best fishing on the River Itchen and Avington golf course is also nearby. From the cottage you can walk to The Bush Inn which has a renowned restaurant. You can cook in the cottage, walk to the pub for an excellent meal, drive 3 miles to the busy market town Alresford with good restaurants, cafe's and pubs or 20 minutes to the cathedral city of Winchester with the Christmas market and a wide variety of restaurants from the Michelin starred Black Rat to Rick Steins and River Cottage. A starter pack of coffee, tea and milk are supplied. The beauty of this location is that you can shut off for a few days and enjoy the peace of the South Downs National Park or you can use it as a base to explore the south of England. It takes 15 minutes to get to major roads or a main line station which can take you to London, Oxford and Bath as well as the coastline of southern England.
