Description

Our house is located on the outskirts of a quiet North Groningen village. With a few steps, you are among the wheat fields, or you nestle in the hammock between apple and plum trees. The children can walk to the playground behind the house in a few minutes! It is an old house with a simple decor, but basically everything is there for a relaxing stay. The space Our house is a simple house, it was built at the end of the 19th century as a farmhouse. It is cozy, with a collected and inherited inventory, or as one of our guests describes it: the furnishings are a bit improvised, but if you're not fussy that gives it a special charm. And it has everything you need for a relaxing stay, the classic from everything in the kitchen to sheets and towels, but also more modern - from a dishwasher to WiFi. The house is not permanently occupied, so it happens that it feels a bit damp upon arrival. It is best to turn on the heaters for an hour and keep the windows ajar. There is systematic cleaning and everything you need for a simple vacation is there. The Room A specially built house from the late 19th century, with a cozy living room and open kitchen, simple bathroom with toilet and shower, a nice play attic and two bedrooms overlooking the garden. Accommodates 6 people, with two double beds and two single beds in the attic. A 1000 m2 garden with a small frog pond and a sunny terrace. In the back of the garden, there are apple and plum trees and access to a large playground. WIFI: can be found on the cabinet in the left corner of the living room, next to the television. PARKING: Do not park on the road, but in one of the two parking spaces at the house (1 next to the house, 1 on the other side of the garden), or a little further down the street (at the greenhouses). IN WINTER: Especially if we have not been there for a few days, the house can be damp and smell that way. This can be quickly remedied: turn on the heaters in all rooms on the ground floor, close the hatch to the attic and open the window by the kitchen to prevent condensation. MAIN WATER VALVE: In winter, we close the main valve. In the hatch in the living room at the dining table (next to the stained glass window) is the main water tap. To open: turn the RED TAP counterclockwise. STOVES: put the stoves on the pilot light at night. SHOPS: in Uithuizen there are supermarkets, and all kinds of other shops. There are also the containers for glass etc. Note: not for paper. We collect it at home and then take it to our place of residence. WASTE: In the months of August to December, garbage is collected in the gray containers on August 2, 16 and 30, September 13 and 27, October 11 and 25, November 8 and 22, December 6 and 20. The green containers in the weeks in between. Guest access All rooms have authentic (well maintained) gas heaters, and there are carbon monoxide detectors in all rooms. In the kitchen is a good stove with oven, a microwave, kettle and a dishwasher. There is a simple bathroom with an electric heater and washing machine. There is a dryer in the attic. For all beds, 2 double beds and 2 single beds, bedding is provided and there are plenty of (new) towels. There is a small wind-protected terrace at the front door and in the garden is a large sunny terrace with a nice seat and a wood stove. Behind the house is a shed, where we mostly store things that are not for general use. Other things to note Dear guests, welcome to our house: a former goat farm built around 1900. The current living room was the stable, the back house the home. Because it is an old house, we have a small "user manual" for you! We, two families, bought the house over 20 years ago, a family home where our children, dogs and cats could and still can enjoy. The previous owner left us a beautiful, wild garden, full of visible and invisible animals: birds, toads, frogs, lizards, ladybugs, spiders, snails, snails, bees, wasps, flies, woodlice, mosquitoes, sometimes a hedgehog, or a pheasant or a woodpecker. We hope you will soon feel at home in this house and make the house your own. Use what you need, if you come across something that is no longer good, throw it away, and we greatly appreciate it if you leave at least some coffee and toilet paper when you leave.
