The Flying Rice House, Veikkola, near Helsinki

Riisitalo is booked until spring 2026. See you again after that! Come with your family, friends or even your friends' family to spend a wonderful sauna weekend or summer week! The yard has space to hang out, play and grill. The wood-fired sauna heats up, from which you can move to the back terrace to cool off or run down the hill to the lake to swim! You drive to us from Helsinki in 35 min. or by bus in 40 min. plus 20 min. walk. Near Nuuksio National Park! There is space for several cars in the yard. The space The house is a 90s wooden building that has been recently renovated. There is plenty of space left for wooden floors, so that yoga, standing on your head, board game tournaments, meditation or even lounging around would be nice! The main building has three bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, shower room, dressing room, toilet, wood-heated sauna and a covered back terrace. There is also a small bedroom in a separate building. There is also a swing in the yard (perhaps the largest in southern Finland). The living room also has a wasabi-colored sofa bed. If you like to do somersaults or play cricket, there is plenty of flat lawn in your own yard. In winter, you can challenge to a snowball fight or go ice fishing! The plot is partly on a slope, and it is also nice to set up a tent for little adventurers. A small gas grill is also at your disposal. Children will certainly enjoy themselves here, but we cannot promise complete safety. The house is old enough that it has no lockable cleaning cabinets, no lidded stumps. The plot is also a sloping plot with drops. So, if you decide to come with kids or pets, please keep an eye on them, taking these things into account. The beach is about 150m away, with a pier shared with neighbors. There are three docks side by side, the middle one of which is in use. Please note that the path to the beach is steep and sometimes slippery (no winter maintenance either). You can also get there by bus, e.g. no 280 goes directly from Kamppi to Veikkola in 35 min. From the bus stop, you can walk to the house in about 20 minutes. See the route guide for more detailed schedules. Guest access All the facilities in the main building and the entire yard area are at your disposal (excluding the locked storage space). Cabinets with private items are marked. One of the bedrooms is at the end of the yard building (warming up takes a few hours if it's cold). We will inform you in advance if we will be in the yard, for example, to water the flowers, etc. Other things to note - Note the steep hill just before the destination. We recommend studded tires in winter. -We will clean the yard of snow before your arrival, but during your visit, it is up to the guest to remove the snow as needed. -If you need electricity in the yard, for example, to heat or charge your car, let us know in advance. In this case, electricity will be charged according to consumption and the day's electricity market price -The cleaning fee covers bed linen, towels and soaps. General cleaning, such as your own dishes, wiping surfaces and collecting garbage, is the responsibility of the guest. - Pets are also welcome at no extra charge when guests vacuum the hair before departure. However, pets are not allowed on sofas and beds.
