The spacious, well-equipped kitchen is perfect to dish up a hearty meal to be served on the magnificent polished wooden oval table. Shambles Cottage is in a quiet, secluded courtyard, a step away from one of Ambleside’s oldest streets ‘The Slack’, yet the town’s amenities are just yards away, with an abundance of shops, cafés and restaurants. With good public transport links it couldn’t be easier to forget the car and explore the area stress free. There are plenty of places to visit right on your doorstep, the famous Bridge House or a short walk to Stockghyll Falls are a must, whilst further afield there is beautiful Grasmere village, or catch one of the Windermere ferries from the nearby Waterhead terminal. For climbing and walking, you are surrounded by fells and mountains, just don’t forget your guide book and camera, your days will be filled! A stay at Shambles Cottage is a must if you would like to explore the Lake District National Park. Shop 200 yards, pub 500 yards and restaurant 25 yards.
