Recently renovated, The Old Stables offers the perfect couples' hideaway. You will find yourselves tucked away in the Suffolk countryside with walks down to the river Deben and Martlesham Creek on your doorstep. Enjoy the private garden during the day and the warmth of the woodburner at night with a glass of wine. The space At The Old Stables you will find a large open plan kitchen/living room with a vaulted ceiling, woodburner, WIFI and a freeview TV. The kitchen area is equipped with a dishwasher, electric oven and fridge. There is one double bedroom with a king size bed and a shower room. Guest access Parking available beside the stables, and there is a table in the private garden for your morning coffee. Activities to enjoy: Walking, cycle rides, sailing, running, birdwatching Tennis court available for guests Other things to note BREAKFAST Breakfast is provided for your stay - our chickens' eggs (when they are in lay); croissants, bread or muffins; Dorset muesli and oats; jam/marmalade/honey, tea, instant and fresh coffee and orange juice. WASHING/DRYING/IRONING I can wash/dry clothes for you and if you need an iron/ironing board, please let me know. TRANSPORT Woodbridge Station is 7 minutes taxi away. (M&R Cars 01394 38661). Ipswich Station is a 30 minute taxi away. PLACES TO VISIT Woodbridge is a small market town on the River Deben, known for its famous Tidemill and proximity to Sutton Hoo Burial Ground. There are many independent shops along the Thoro'fare and designer clothing shops on the Market hill. There are lots of lovely walks and cycle rides (to the sea, river estuaries, forests and heathlands) as well as golf, sailing, riding, swimming and much more - all on your doorstep. Within a 30 minute drive you can find yourself in Aldeburgh (with its famous Fish and Chips): at Snape Maltings' concert halls and amazing retail complex offering local food, designer furniture/homeward, art gallery, and antiques. A bit further up the coast is the idyllic Walberswick with its unspoilt sandy beach; Dunwich and Southwold are close by - so close that you can even take the ferry boat across to the Harbour Inn at Southwold from Walberswick!
