Garden Paradise Outside Berlin

Get away from it all. No traffic. No noise. No scene. Just country life pure. Little more than an hour’s drive from Berlin. Where you’ll be surrounded by flowers and trees, and the sound of birds chattering. The guest apartment has its own entrance, and is furnished with hand-picked items mostly from the 1920's and 50's. The space The red house, built in ca 1870, is set in the midst of nature, on the edge of a forest, and surrounded by a 3,000 sq. m. garden. It is located about 2 km outside of a small village and its sole neighbor is a large timber-framed house, a former sheep farm. The large holiday apartment is lovingly furnished with furniture from the late 19th century, 1920’s, 1950’s, as well as design originals by Heineberg co-host Erwin Leber. It is comprised of a large eat-in kitchen which also houses a piano. The kitchen leads into the living area outfitted with a wood-burning stove, chaise and small library. From the living room, doors lead onto the terrace and into the garden. Klein Behnitz lies in a triangle between Brandenburg, Ribbeck and Nauen. Nearby places of interest include the agricultural landmark Landgut Stober in Groß Behnitz (5 km), Schloss Ribbeck (12 km) and Schloss Paretz (20 km), which can be reached by bicycle over country roads or bicycle paths. The Trappen or large buzzard colony is a further attraction in Havelland (20 km) and clear lakes between Klein Behnitz and Brandenburg offer swimming and boating activities. Both Potsdam and Brandenburg an der Havel are 30 km away, Brandenburg and Berlin are a bit more than an hour’s drive or 40-minute train ride away. However please note: as of summer 2025, there will be no train service between Nauen and Berlin for an undetermined period due to track work. Guest access Guests have access to our 3,000 sq. ft. garden. They can sit under the rose arbor, lounge on a blanket on the spacious lawn, stretch their feet in our Adirondack chairs, or relax at their own outdoor table and chairs on the terrace. In spring/summer, they can spice up their meals with fresh herbs from the herb garden. There's a grill at their disposal, 2 bikes for use free of charge, as well as the sauna in the garden house which can be used when the summer garden house studio is not occupied. Sauna sessions, including towels, cost 20€ per one hour session for up to 2 persons, and 25€ for 90 minutes. Additional guests (up to 4 in total) cost 5€ extra per person.n house which costs 10€ per session. Other things to note Surprise! There's a piano in the kitchen - and it's tuned. You will also find homemade jam, plus coffee, espresso, tea, oil, wine vinegar, salt and pepper and more in the full-service kitchen. We offer a three-course dinner – to be ordered in advance – for 30€ per person, including a welcome drink. Wine is not included, but guests can bring their own, or we can offer wine by the glass (200 ml) at 5€ per glass. Also, though Google Maps insists we are listed as being in Nauen, we are located in Klein Behnitz which is 19 km from Nauen.
