The Thiérache is a beautiful region in the north of France (Picardy) where mass tourism has not penetrated. Where you can swim in a natural lake and shop in a town 20 minutes' drive from the house. The fortified churches of the cities of Laon, Charleville-Mezieres, Guise and Reims with its Champagne houses and the glass, textile museum are worth a visit.
