The well-equipped kitchen with wooden table looks over the gardens to the quaint village green. Next door is the lounge, boasting a grand wooden table which comfortably seats 8, a plush brown leather sofa in front of an impressive stone fireplace, and a wooden workspace with garden views. This area flows into a separate games room, complete with a large flatscreen TV, DVDs, video games, children’s toys, and a sofa that doubles as a double foldout bed. There is plenty of space and activities for spending quality time with your loved ones. Ascend the spiral stone staircase to a beautifully open, spacious room with white-painted stone walls that reveal hints of natural colour and shape, wooden beams, and a cosy fireplace. The master bedroom with king size bed is a continuation of this rustic elegance, leading to an en-suite bathroom featuring a standalone bath, high-pressure shower, and garden views. Further up, the stairs bring you to the children’s haven—a bunk bedroom adorned with wooden features and a cute stuffed toy deer head, boasting a garden view. A separate curtain and wooden beam divide this from the landing, which leads to the third bedroom, fitted with a double bed and a single daybed, ideal for another couple or guests. This floor also includes a second bathroom with a toilet and bath, and there is a third bathroom downstairs (although that does not have a bath or shower). Other things to note Our historic home offers a tranquil escape, enveloped in charm and character. Please note, the traditional stone staircases, while beautiful, are a bit steep and are less suitable for guests with limited mobility or very young children, who may need supervising. Note that for their safety there is a retractable stair gate at the top of the stairs where the top floor bedrooms are located. The thick, storied walls of our home enhance its historic feel, but might affect mobile reception; however, we provide excellent WiFi to keep you connected. The bunk room is separated from the landing by a curtain, meaning sound can travel easily to this room from the main living area. The quaint low ceilings and wooden beams in some areas add to the cosy ambiance—just watch your head whilst you enjoy the charm! Foolow itself is a beautiful, quiet village with a local pub, chapel, village green and duck pond. Shops and a wider selection of pubs and eateries are close by in Eyam, Tideswell and Calver.
