The space Located in Laval-Morency, in the heart of the Ardennes Natural Park, our gîte welcomes you to a large property with character, formerly a village train station, surrounded by greenery and tranquility. Here, we come to seek calm, space, and a real timeless break. Ideally located, only 2 hours from Paris or Brussels and 20 km from Charleville-Mézières, it is a perfect base for exploring the Ardennes, amidst unspoiled nature and exceptional heritage. The accommodation, fully independent with a private entrance, offers all the necessary comforts: a cozy living room, a fully equipped kitchen, two comfortable bedrooms, a bathroom with a bathtub, and secure parking. Outside, make the most of the rural setting: a large table for alfresco dining, a barbecue for convivial evenings, a petanque court for shared moments, and a trampoline for young and old alike, all in a peaceful environment in contact with nature and our hens, which add an authentic and lively touch to the stay. The region is also a true paradise for hiking enthusiasts, with many accessible trails nearby: the forest of Signy-l'Abbaye, the Ardennes ridges, the loops around Rocroi, or the paths leading to the panoramas of the Natural Park. Walks for all levels, through forests, valleys and remarkable viewpoints. Just a few minutes away, Lac des Vieilles-Forges also offers plenty of outdoor activities: swimming, water sports, tree climbing, and hiking around the lake. Heritage enthusiasts will be delighted with Rocroi and its star-shaped fortified town, the majestic Château Fort de Sedan, the largest medieval fortress in Europe, or the many fortified churches that enrich the region. Finally, just 20 minutes away, Charleville-Mézières, the city of Arthur Rimbaud, invites you to stroll around its beautiful Place Ducale and discover its lively historic center. An ideal place to gather, breathe, and fully enjoy the Ardennes. Guest access Guests have completely autonomous access thanks to a private entrance dedicated to the cottage, allowing for a simple and flexible check-in. You have the entire left exterior part of the property, giving you a beautiful space of calm and freedom during your stay. Parking is secure and located directly on-site, close to the accommodation. Upon request and under adult supervision, children can also access the chicken coop to see the chickens and, depending on the season, collect good fresh eggs. All the information you need for your arrival will be communicated to you in advance to make it easier for you to settle in under the best conditions. Other things to note To make your arrival easier, we recommend using the Waze app to reach the cottage easily. As part of an eco-responsible approach, the accommodation is heated to about 19°C during the day in winter, with a possible adjustment at night to limit energy consumption. The accommodation has a 200-liter hot water tank: for stays of 3 or 4 people, please be mindful of your consumption, especially for baths, so that everyone can enjoy it comfortably.
