Description

Our charming holiday cottage in the Peak District National Park offers you a place to get away from it all. It is set in a hamlet between Buxton and Bakewell. There are walks such as the Monsal Trail, Limestone Way and Pennine Bridalway nearby, with places such as Chatsworth and Haddon Hall a short drive away. The cottage accommodates 4 people (ideally up to 2 adults and 2 children) and is well equipped. It is situated near to our own house. There is a garden and parking next to the cottage. The space Our cottage (known as The Coach House) is fully equipped for your stay. In addition there are local books, a map and information on places to visit etc. We are able to offer secure facilities for cyclists next to the cottage. There will be a welcome pack ready for your arrival with some basics such as coffee/tea, milk etc. In addition I usually leave a few extras such as cereal, bread or even some home baking! There are no shops in Blackwell in the Peak, however, Tideswell, Buxton and Bakewell are a short drive away. We are happy to receive an online supermarket delivery on the day of your arrival - just let us know the time. Information is available on local food suppliers and farm shops. There are some lovely country pubs, tea shops, restaurants etc in the area. We are proud to have been awarded the Peak District Environmental Quality Mark for our approach to sustainability and the environment. Guest access Guests will have the cottage to themselves. Our main house is nearby. Guests with a dog need to be aware that we are in a rural area and there is livestock in the fields/farms nearby. In addition the garden area is not secure despite our property being surrounded by dry stone walls. There is ample parking space next to the cottage. Other things to note The area is very rural, however there are stunning views and fabulous walks nearby, including 'walks from the door'. It is only a short walk to the nearest bus stop with routes to Buxton, Bakewell, and Tideswell. Beech Croft caravan and camping site in Blackwell has a small shop and a fabulous coffee shop - Daisies. The local shops are a short drive away, for example in Tidsewell there is a bakery, fruit/veg shop, and grocery store. There are some lovely country pubs and tea rooms within 5 mins drive. We are proud to have been awarded the Peak District National Park 'Environmental Quality Mark'. As part of being eco friendly we ask guests to recycle as much as possible, plus there are shopping bags, water bottles etc that you can use whilst staying in the cottage. Water from the tap is safe to drink so no need to buy bottled water/plastic bottles. We have a large garden and maintain this as nature friendly as possible. We do not use chemicals and use a number of initiatives to encourage wildlife and nature.
