Dune View is a bright, open plan, self contained, upstairs cottage. It is perched up on a hill in Sodwana Bay in rural Zululand, with sweeping dune views. It is 1.5kms from the main tar road on a single sandy track - although you don't need 4x4, a vehicle with higher clearance is recommended. we recommend you let your tyres down to 1 5bar for your atay The space Sodwana Bay is a scuba-diving, fishing and nature-lover’s paradiseThe cottage is 1.5kms from the main road and the access road is a single sandy track - you don't need 4x4 but we dont recommend very low clearance cars. it is best to let your tyre pressure down to 1.5bar for the duration of your stay The cottage is upstairs with a gorgeous dune views. The bright, open-plan space comprises a king-size bed (we can provide twin beds instead, by prior request) There is a large semi-covered deck off the cottage with patio furniture, a gas braai and a small wood burning fire pit/braai Guests can enjoy the local sights and sounds while sipping a sundowner on the deck - the distant lighthouse turning on Jesser Point, local Nguni cattle being herded past, chickens roosting for the night, a local soccer game on the nearby field and an incredible night sky filled with stars. The bathroom has a shower & bath towels are provided. There is a lounge area with a SmartTV with Netflix. We do not have DSTV. The kitchenette is equipped with a fridge/freezer, microwave, 2-plate gas stove, kettle and toaster (no oven) The cottage is equipped with a ceiling fan an an aircon for those hot summer days. The cottage is self catering and is serviced once a week- linen & towels changed & dishes washed. Additional service is available at R150/ day. Please let us know by 5pm the day before so that we can arrange the cleaner. There is another house on the property, but guests have their own electric gate and a private entrance. The whole property is secured with an electric fence. Although it is not far from town, the cottage is very rural and situated among the local homesteads & natural bush. There are dogs and chickens on the main property. Please note that rural Sodwana Bay does often experience power cuts, this is unfortunately out of our control. In this case there will be no power or very little water. We recommended that you enjoy the beautiful night sky or spend the evening at one of the nearby bigger lodges. You can atill cook on the gas stove or bbq and we provide rechargeable lights. in the event of an extended outage we can run a small geberator for you to shower. Guest access Entire cottage including own electric access gate & parking. Limited turning space - not suitable for large trailers. Other things to note The village of Sodwana Bay is located about 5kms from the beach. There is no development right on the beachfront as it is a National Park & Unesco World Heritage site. We can also book activities for you - diving, fishing, snorkeling, whale watching, turtle tours, surfing lessons, microlight flights, quad bike trips and much more...
