Poggio Verde is an old farm which has been converted into 8 properties. The agriturismo is set in extensive private grounds and offers many amenities. Other things to note The front door leads from the courtyard to the open-plan living area, which has terracotta tiled floors. The living room is furnished with a sofa, with a dining table and chairs and a fitted kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a cooker hob, fridge and coffee machine. Location Poggio Verde is well located for guests to explore Umbria and southern Tuscany. Castiglione del Lago (10 minutes), with its medieval castle that dominates the lakeshore, offers wonderful views over the beautiful Lake Trasimeno. On the water, guests can enjoy many different watersports, including canoeing and swimming. Away from the lake, visitors can cycle or hike along one of the many tracks that crisscross the stunning countryside. The capital of Umbria, Perugia is 45 minutes away. It is well worth a visit, as is the famous town of Assisi (1 hour) birthplace of St Francis and a site of pilgrimage. Over the border in Tuscany, Montepulciano (40 minutes) makes an interesting day trip. Here you can visit many different wine producers and try some of the famous red wines and buy some to enjoy at home.
