Our house, “Die traute 33,” is located in a small village with no through traffic, surrounded by plenty of nature and tranquility. At night, you can often hear the owl hooting here, and with a little luck, you might spot a fox darting through the garden at dusk. Sometimes the deer might help themselves to the herbs that were actually planted for you, our guests… Adjacent to the house is a meadow and a small “grove,” where you can find secluded spots to relax, surrounded by trees, shrubs, and fragrant vines.Anyone expecting a closely mowed lawn with flower beds will be disappointed; here, almost everything is allowed to grow as it pleases and is only kept in check to a small extent. The fire pit and the firewood are ready and waiting for you. Hikers and cyclists can set out right from the house—for example, on the WesterwaldSteig—but there are also shorter hiking trails and loop trails leading through the valley and up into the hills. In the small town of Hachenburg, just 4 km away, you can stock up on all your daily necessities—and please don’t miss the chance to explore the beautiful, historic town center with its market square. The nearby Westerwald Lake District offers opportunities for swimming, boating, taking walks around the area, or simply enjoying nature in peace. 2-Bedroom Apartment: The vacation apartment is located on the first floor of the house on the hillside; it was completely renovated in 2021, and we were very committed to making the renovation as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible; for example, the walls are painted with clay and lime paint, the insulation is made of natural fibers, the flooring is real wood, and the bedding is sustainably produced. On-site costs: The price includes: heating, water, electricity, Wi-Fi, final cleaning, bed linens, towels, and homegrown herbs and berries depending on the season and availability. Check-in is available from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM, and check-out is available from 12:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
