Stow House Farm Cottages, Cornmill Cottage

Situated on a rural farm on the outskirts of Durham, our three bedroom, stone built cottage has been lovingly converted from the farm’s former cornmill. It can comfortably accommodate six guests and is perfect for larger families or groups of friends. For those with wanting to holiday with larger groups we have Ivy cottage and Bramble Cottage next door which sleep 4 and 3 guests respectively. Follow us on social media to keep up to date - Stow House Farm Cottages The space Cornmill has a twin bedroom and a double bedroom on the ground floor, whilst an impressive master bedroom is accessed via a staircase from the dining kitchen. All three bedrooms benefit from brand new, luxury Emma Mattresses which we replaced in spring 2021. The family bathroom has just undergone a full refurbishment and has a large, walk in rain shower, wc and sink with illuminated mirror above. There is a good sized living room with two, brand new sofas and sensational views of the countryside . The living room also benefits from a brand new, HD smart tv which you are able to stream your own Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+ accounts from. The large kitchen diner is a wonderful, social space that makes Cornmill a great choice for groups of friends or larger families. There is parking at the front of the cottage on the gravelled driveway. We have beautiful fields and woods to the front of us where children can play and explore but still be within sight and shouting distance! There is a picnic bench on the lawn which makes for a lovely spot to enjoy an al fresco lunch. We do not provide a bbq but please feel free to bring your own disposable ones and use on the gravelled area outside of the cottage. Cornmill cottage has just had new windows and doors fitted in October 2020. These have made the cottage feel much warmer and let more light in. Please note that the twin bedroom, lounge and bathroom are accessed via two stone steps and there are two stone steps which lead down to the property. Guest access Guests have full use of the property and the outdoor spaces to the front. Other things to note A travel cot and high chair can be supplied on request. Please let us know if you are bringing more than one car so we can make sure there is enough parking space provided for you.
