The 100 sq. m. house, "Ya Chara," is set on the hillside of the authentic Cretan village of Ravdoucha, and it overlooks the Kissamos Bay. This ideal home combines the virtues of “getting away from it all” while conveniently located minutes from the national road, taking you to many of Western Crete’s most sought-after spots, such as Balos Beach in Gramvousa, Falasarna beach and archaeological site, as well as the much-photographed famous Elafonisi Beach, which is designated a natural protected area and has been rated in the top 10 beaches of the world by TripAdvisor. The nearest town, Kolymbari, is 15-20 min away, and has all the supplies and markets one would need to stock up. Ravdoucha is only 30 minutes from the town of Chania, and about 45 minutes from Chania Airport. The rural village of Ravdoucha itself has a fish and traditional Cretan food taverna that you may very well want to become a regular of, as well as an unspoiled pebble beach that only the locals know of! Our home has been made with our family vacations in mind, so no comfort is spared. There is a fully equipped kitchen with full oven, fridge, and dishwasher, television, air conditioning, washer, free parking on premises, wireless internet, and more! The private pool with a barbecue and playground in the garden, together with plenty of space for outdoor dining, is a dream in the summer, in particular for families with children. In the colder months, there is even a fireplace so one can enjoy the view from inside, or from the protected terrace on the second floor of the house, looking down to the sea. Guest access The entire house, garden, and swimming pool are all yours! Other things to note *Please note that although the location is very convenient and not isolated, it is placed at the end of a country road--the very last part of the drive is on a dirt road, which may appear to be a little rough, but don't worry, it is well-travelled by 2WD and 4WD vehicles alike. *Although we offer free wireless internet service, please keep in mind that because of the fact our home is in a remote countryside location, the tradeoff is that the internet speed and connection is not as fast and reliable as it would be in a central city location. We have procured the best possible service for our guests, however it is not perfect! *During the winter months, we offer special monthly rates, that include water, internet, and all utilities except for electricity, which is charged separately according to usage.
