Cottage in Schönwalde am Bungsberg

You just don't want to leave: the timber-framed cottage, the garden, the salmon stream, the meadow, the forest, the tranquility, hikes right from the house to Holstein Switzerland, excursions to the Baltic Sea (20 km). In reviews / emails: ... your house is an absolute dream! ... the house is just cute and the location is hard to beat! ... the area around the house is even more rustic and beautiful than a picture could ever represent! The space The thatched roof cottage has been here at the Walkmühle near the Lachsbach for more than 250 years. We - Nathalie (Hessian) and Arthur (Dutch) - were able to acquire it in 2006 and have thoroughly renovated it: handling the old charm, with sustainable materials, upcycling, recycling and a lot of creativity. As a result, it has now become very cozy and 'gezellig'! Books, toys, musical instruments can be found here rather than shiny floors and tiled walls. The house is practically one of the last houses on the outskirts of the Glindewald and has a freely available plot of 2.6 hectares: 1 hectare of meadow, 1 hectare of forest with flowing stream (well, in August maybe a little less flowing). The European hiking trail E1 runs practically outside the door, and off you go towards Bungsberg, Glindewald, Eutin, Lübeck, etc. Guest access Among other things: piano in the living room, a Jakkolo game, German/English/Dutch books, dishwasher in the kitchen, washing machine in the barn; various balls (football, hand volleyball, basketball, jeu-de-boules), in the garden a trampoline, on the meadow a barbecue area with tripod grill, a private piece of forest. What is so nice about it, a guest described in her thank you email: "You have a nice place there! We enjoyed it a lot, especially the children played in the woods all the time." Other things to note The cottage stands apart. There are 4 beds and a sofa bed for 9 people. If desired, you could set up a tent in the garden. However, only 11 people fit at the dining table. So that limits the number of people we can accommodate. At the back of the adjacent barn, we have set up a small apartment for ourselves. So we are often on site ourselves. This means we are also there for you if you want tips for excursions or perhaps a wild plant tour. In summer, our meadow is grazed by sheep. As a result, the meadow is partially inaccessible. And please don't feed the sheep.
