The 3-Zi.-Ferienwohnung Casa sullo Scoglio is located on a small headland directly on the crystal clear sea of Ostuni. The holiday home is located on the ground floor of a former ancient Masseria, one of the most rare, located directly on the sea. After extensive restoration work, the apartment was completed in August 2011. Alone her name Casa sullo Scoglio (Apartment on the Rock) holds what she promises. Behind the small garden gate is framed by rocks (which are also well-walked even for children), the sandy beach bay. From the front terrace you can enjoy a unique sea view! On the terrace you can enjoy breakfast in the morning with vista mare or in the evening, by candlelight and maybe a glass of Primitivo, to listen to the sound of the sea. From the terrace you have direct access to the living room (with TV). And even from here, the view of the sea opens again. There is a dining area that merges into an open kitchen. The brick kitchen is well equipped (an oven is also available). Casa sullo Scoglio is a good middle class property. It has two bedrooms: 1 double and 1 room with 1 double bed and 1 single bed, so that the domicile can also be occupied by 5 people. It has a nice, naturally new bathroom with shower cubicle, sink, toilet and bidet. The equipment of the apartment also includes an air condition, so that it can be used well not only in summer, but also during the cooler months. The apartment has 2 entrances (one on the front of the property and one on the back), which could be of interest if you are staying with 2 couples or with older children. Very tastefully made is also the back outside of the holiday home, which is bordered by a typical Apulian stone wall in warm tones such as sand and terracotta. A beautiful wooden porch and matching tiles fit harmoniously into the ensemble. After the Apulian lunch, you can also enjoy a quiet interlude under the shady veranda. The domicile surprises with some extras, especially in the outdoor area. After a sunbath and a refreshment at the crystal-clear sea, the non-visible outdoor shower under the porch can be ideally used. The shower as well as an extra toilet are for the exclusive use of the apartment. Everything is brand new. In addition, the guest has another 4-burner stove and an outdoor barbecue grill available. Two shady private parking spaces are also part of the apartment. A wall safe and an alarm complete the offer. Villanova with its picturesque ancient fishing port and the adjacent Camerini, where the apartment is located on a headland, has retained its original character. Here you can still observe fishermen who pull out with their boats to the sea and beat their polipi after catching on the rocks, so they can be well prepared in the kitchen. Puglia, the Mecca of Mediterranean cuisine! * * * * * For decades, Marina di Ostuni has been awarded the Blue Ribbon, or Blue Flag, for its excellent seawater quality. In addition, in recent years, the '5 sails' (maximum rating) of Legambiente - an Italian rather environmentalist organization. Along this coastline in front of Ostuni are various resorts. The center at least geographically represents the picturesque ancient fishing port of Villanova. There are bars where you can have breakfast, bakeries, fish restaurants, pizzeria etc. Although you should not think of Villanova as a sophisticated one, in the summer months you can see one and the other yacht, because the crystal-clear sea attracts many affluent Italians and Europeans. In August there is holiday resort. The coast is very varied here. If there are long sandy beaches in the northern area of Marina di Ostuni (Pilone, Rosa Marina), then the following coastline to the south (Lido Fontanelle, Costa Merlata) is increasingly characterized by bays. Sandy beaches always alternate with rocks. Bizzarre rock formations, ancient lighthouses, bays lined with fragrant macchia mediterranea characterize the landscape. Not far from Ostuni, in the direction of Brindisi, is the Marine National Park Torre Guaceto. If one were to be inspired to paint a picture of the South-Apulian city of Ostuni, only a few colors were needed: the green for the endless centuries-old olive groves, which stretch to the sea and flank the coast, the blue in various shades for the azure sea that goes to the sky like a blue carpet on the horizon. In contrast, the whitewashed houses in the Moorish-looking old town of Ostuni with its labyrinthine alleys and staircases are bright white. Proud and like an oriental "kasbah", the White City towers 300 meters up in the sunlight. The old town Ostuni is officially also the art city of Italy. Individual accents in the image set purple and purple splashes of color for the lush bougainvilleas that peek out from the walls and beautify the gardens. Muri a secco, never ending near the fields, the typical dry walls of Apulia. The colors of the stones range from white, sandy, over reddish-terracotta-mottled to anthracite, almost black, when they are faded from the decades of weathering. The most beautiful are the sand-colored, reddish-brown criss-crossed, reminiscent of beautifully planted with flowers terracotta vases. It is a lovely tone that radiates warmth and that we associate with Mediterranean culture and way of life. The rural charm of Apulia is characterized by shady olive trees, wild-grown prickly pears, red tomato fields and vineyards that alternate with idyllic villages and, of course, the friendly hospitality of its inhabitants. Heavy fig trees are just waiting to be picked. Fragrant lemon, orange and mandarin trees blend harmoniously into the Mediterranean, sun-drenched paradise. Pure nature! In the background of the picture one discovers isolated Trulli, immersed in the green hills of Ostuni, at the foot of the Murge. They are an indispensable part of the cultural landscape of Puglia, the trulli, archaic-looking white round houses that taper in a conical shape towards the top. The former farmhouses have their home here in the idyllic Itria Valley (Valle d'Itria), an area that stretches from Ostuni via Cisternino and Martina Franca to Locorotondo and finally to Alberobello. The maximum concentration of trulli can be found right here in the charming, well-visited town of Alberobello, whose old town is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If the unique and characteristic trulli remind of miniature houses, the Apulian Masserien (Italian: masserie) symbolize veritable fairy-tale castles. They are noble antique country residences of wild romantic charm amidst centuries-old olive groves. If northwestern Piedmont advertises the Slow Food way of life, the southeastern Puglia is the epitome and thus the poster child for the typical Mediterranean cuisine. Among the typical Apulian pasta specialties include the Orecchiette (Eng. Ears) and the Cavatelli. La Puglia is also the giant among the Italian wine producers (Primitivo di Puglia, Salice Salentino, Negroamaro, etc.). Olive oils and wines are popular holiday governesses. To buy you can either visit an enoteca in the cities, which usually has a wide range or a cantina directly. The proud 800 kilometers that line Apulia's fabulous coastline, are also equally suitable for fishing and thus for fantastic dishes from the sea kitchen. Whether zuppa di pesce, fresh octopus salad, exquisite pasta creations with shellfish or crabmeat, gratin cozze (mussels) or grilled Mediterranean fish in herb sauce, there is something for every taste. Puglia is simply the mecca of Mediterranean cuisine. Cheap flight connection. with the low-cost airlines Air Berlin, German Wings and Ryan Air from several German airports
