Chapel Cottage, spacious light and airy cottage in the Cotswolds AONB
Description
This fully equipped, comfortable, light and spacious, self-contained country cottage is your home from home in the heart of the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, an official 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. With high speed full fibre broadband and a central location Chapel Cottage, and its little courtyard garden and summerhouse gives you easy access to all the surrounding famous stone built towns and villages as well as Cheltenham, Oxford, Stratford, Bath and Bristol, Stonehenge and Avebury. The space The Cottage, originally a Sunday school, is attached to a handsome Cotswold stone chapel built in 1804. Both buildings have been converted to interesting living spaces by the present owners who live in the chapel. The cottage is totally private and completely independent. It is warm and cosy in winter and airy and spacious in summer. The small upstairs bathroom with WC is complemented by a downstairs WC and basin, plus there is a wash basin in both bedrooms. Voted no 5 in the 10 best airbnb's in the Cotswolds. https://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/airbnb-guide-best-places-stay-1201240 Guest access Guests have their own parking space on the quiet lane outside, their own entrance and front door. They also have access to the cottage's bespoke sunny courtyard garden with a charming summerhouse, outdoor seating and barbecue. Other things to note Unfortunately our local pub the Seven Tuns is currently closed though due to reopen for Christmas 2024 and also we did have a farm shop but that also closed due to covid. Our most local pubs are the Fossebridge Inn which is a hotel and has a good menu and is an amazing building. It takes about 20 minutes to walk there from Chapel Cottage. The other local pub is the Stumpwhich has turned itself into an amazing pizza outlet. Definitely worth a visit but it is on the main road and you need to drive (about 5 minutes from the cottage) . Around the valley there is the Chedworth Roman Villa and plenty of beautiful cotswold stone houses, cottages and the medieval St. Andrew's Church. There is a network of footpaths connecting you to all these destinations. Local footpath maps are in the cottage. And you should visit our personal guidebook (on this website) for details about local pubs, markets, shopping and great walks.
