The space The Old Shop at Savile House is a charming 18th-century cottage, full of character and ideally located for exploring Sherwood Forest, including the famous Major Oak and Robin Hood heritage, as well as Sherwood Pines, Rufford Abbey and many other year-round attractions. It’s a wonderful base for families, couples, walkers, cyclists and those looking for a peaceful countryside escape. This family and pet-friendly cottage is set in the conservation village of Old Ollerton, with New Ollerton just a short walk away offering shops, takeaways, cafés and a large supermarket. Many popular attractions, historic parks and wedding venues are within a 15-mile radius, making it an excellent location for both leisure and business stays. There is fibre Wi-Fi throughout, full central heating, and a cast-iron style electric stove for added comfort and atmosphere. A well-stocked bookcase completes the space. ■ KITCHEN The spacious kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with a large dining table seating up to four with additional bench seating. You’ll find plenty of pots, pans and crockery, along with a kettle, coffee maker, microwave, oven, hob, dishwasher and washing machine. You’ll also find an ironing board, iron and vacuum cleaner, along with other useful cleaning items if required. Please note: In keeping with the cottage’s historic charm, the stairs are characterful and slightly steeper than those found in modern homes. ■ BEDROOMS Freshly laundered bed linen and towels are provided. The cottage offers three bedrooms comprising: One king-size bedroom One double bedroom One single bedroom ■ BATHROOM The upstairs bathroom includes a bath with shower over. The shower has an adjustable pressure setting, allowing you to choose between higher or lower pressure. ■ OUTSIDE To the rear of the property is an enclosed patio garden with outdoor seating, a secure gate and fence, and a large barbecue, perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the area. ■ PARKING There is one private parking space at the rear of the house, accessed via a narrow driveway. This can be a little tight, so smaller vehicles or careful manoeuvring are recommended. On-street parking is also available nearby if preferred. ■ PETS We are dog-friendly and welcome up to two medium dogs (or one large dog), house-trained and over 12 months old. Please keep dogs downstairs to help us maintain the cottage for future guests. If you’d like to bring more or have any questions, just message us to discuss. We kindly ask that dogs are not left unattended in the cottage. If they are comfortable being left for a short period, please ensure they are crated to prevent damage or distress. This helps us continue welcoming dogs and keeps things pleasant for our neighbours, thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions at all, feel free to message us, we’re always happy to share ideas for things to do in the area. ★ Check-in / Check-out: Check-in is from 4:00pm and check-out is by 11:00am. ★ Parking: There is one private parking space at the rear of the house, accessed via a narrow driveway. Free on-street parking and a public car park just around the corner are also available if preferred. ★ Families: We provide a travel cot, highchair and a selection of toddler toys. The travel cot is stored in the master bedroom wardrobe, please let us know in advance if you would like everything set up for your stay. There is also a retractable safety gate on the landing. ★ Pets: Pets are welcome; however, for the comfort of future guests, please keep dogs downstairs only. A maximum of two dogs per stay is permitted. ★ Quiet enjoyment: Parties and loud music are not permitted. The property is located in a very peaceful residential area, so we ask guests to be mindful of neighbours. ★ Keys: A replacement fee of £100 will be charged for lost keys. ★ Professional cleaning: The property is professionally maintained and thoroughly cleaned after every guest checks out — similar to a hotel, just without on-site staff. ★ Linen & towels: We provide professionally cleaned, good-quality bed linen and towels. ★ Guest information requirement: For security and insurance purposes, we require the names of all guests staying and ID for the lead guest prior to check-in. This will be requested via a secure link through Airbnb messaging.
