Santalavera is a beautiful corner in the heart of the Heritage City. The house, built in the 17th century, retains colonial features that give visitors a return to the past. The interiors have a romantic touch here, an eclectic touch there, some contemporaneity and all a lot of character. You can also enjoy the selection of live music in our courtyard in the evenings and at night, and try the cocktails, coffee bar, or pizzas, pastas and salads in our restaurant bar, all with warm, generous, hospitable service that makes our guests' stay a memorable experience. Guest access Santalavera is located a block and a half from the zócalo, the city's main square, where the Cathedral, the Municipal Government and the State Government are located. Two streets to the south are the famous Callejón de Los Sapos and the Plazuela de Los Sapos. Three streets to the north are the El Parián Craft Market and the Artist's Quarter. One street beyond, to the north, is the Main Theater, a beautiful baroque building. To the east, crossing the Boulevard Héroes del Cinco de Mayo, on the old Almoloya River, are the neighborhoods of Analco, San Francisco and El Alto, each with several points of interest. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops in our neighborhood. Colonial churches and convents also abound. And we also have several museums, theaters and cinemas nearby, starting with the Palafoxiana Library, the House of Culture, the San Pedro Art Museum in a spectacular old hospital, continuing with the famous Amparo Museum, the House of Alfeñique, the Serdán Brothers Museum, and closing with a flourish with the exquisite Bello y Zetina Museum, next to Santo Domingo and the Chapel of the Rosary. Which is not the same as the Bello y González Museum, which today is a bit run down. Finally, even further northeast of all these neighborhoods, you can visit Cerro de Loreto and many places of interest up there, the most important being the two ancient forts, Loreto and Guadalupe, consecrated in the triumphant and glorious battle against the French. Other things to note Our rooms are old buildings, with very thick walls and old wooden slabs, part of the complex listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. We do our best to offer our customers service and facilities in line with the 21st century, although due to our infrastructure we have some limitations, such as the restricted range of the wireless network, or the noises and smells of old wood. Given this reality, we place special emphasis on making the common areas comfortable and functional and complementing the use of the rooms; we have a cozy dining room facing the street, our cafeteria, two dining rooms under the portals and the arcades of the patio, many tables and chairs outdoors and around the fountain, and our also cozy bar at the bottom of the patio.
