Your home away from home. Island Lodge is a 4 bedroom detached house at the sought after private estate, Lakes By Yoo, in the Cotswolds. A South-West facing house set on the largest lake on the property. The detached house is set in 850 acres, of nature heaven, surrounded by 6 clear water lakes and established woodland, this remarkably secluded, tranquil nature reserve offers a truly memorable experience. Just 90 minutes from London by car, this is the perfect getaway with friends and family. The space Island Lodge is one of the original plots on the estate with sweeping South-West views on the magnificent Bowmoor Lake, offering year round sunrises and impressive sunsets. The house and estate is ideal for every event. The estate and house was designed by the renowned Yoo Studio, co-founded by Philippe Starke, with house designs by Jade Jagger, Kelly Hoppen, Kate Moss, and Elle MacPherson. At Island Lodge, take advantage of the uninterrupted view of nature and incredible sunrises and sunsets by alfresco dining on the terrace, or by the fire place in the open living room. With no other houses in view when looking out, Island Lodge has one of the most exquisite lake views on the property and offers a truly rejuvenating and calming escape, and ultimate privacy. The House The house comfortably sleeps 8 adults + 2 camp beds that we can put in any of the rooms, and 3 cribs if needed. The open plan living room, dining and kitchen benefits from floor to ceiling windows that look out onto the largest lake on the estate. Facing South-West, the open space is bathed in light throughout the day, every season. Island Lodge is decorated in neutral colours throughout and particular attention has been paid to creating a decluttered space, encompassing an airy living environment and unrivalled tranquility. There is a small under-stairs bolthole with toys and books for young children, as well as a small DVD player which creates a little snug for the children to retreat to. The living room has plenty of board games available, as well as WiFi, FreeView TV and DVD player. The kitchen is fully stocked, and the estate concierge team can also arrange in-house chef and catering. Downstairs, there is a King size bedroom, with direct access to the terrace and a separate bathroom with a shower. Upstairs comprises of 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a calm yoga area space, floor to ceiling windows, and a King size bed. It has a large ensuite double bathroom with standalone bathtub and shower. The second bedroom has a King size bed and ensuite double bathroom with bath tub and separate shower. The third twin bedroom has 2 single beds and is attached to a separate shower room. Each bedroom has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lake and beautiful nature. Island lodge has a spacious and comfortable living room with a stocked wood burning fireplace, for chilly days and warming up after long country walks. The house comes with 2 Kayaks and a Dinghy which allow guests to take advantage of the water between 1st April - 30th September (inclusive). You can also book children into the Kid’s Club, which takes place in the Bird Hide on the other side of the Bowmoor lake. Perfect if you want to row your children there! Life jackets for adults and children are also included. Further kayaks and bikes can be requested free of charge for bookings of 2 weeks or more (subject to availability), alternatively you are also able to hire kayaks and bikes onsite. 2 x travel cots and 2 x single folding beds can be put in the rooms if requested, at no extra charge. If you require a wooden cot, we have one with hypoallergenic bamboo mattress which we can put up for stays of 1 week or more. Guests can also enjoy a coal BBQ on the terrace, while soaking up the scene, coal and tools are included. The house is about an 8-10 minute walk from the spa, or a 3-5 minute drive door to door, where they have parking. You can also walk into town from the walking path just 100 yards from the front door, which leads to some of the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds! Guest access Just an 8-10 minute walk within the estate (or 3-5 minute drive) guests can have access to the Orchard Spa, with Bamford products and a wide variety of treatments. The Orchard Spa has a gym and 20m x 8m swimming pool (guests can use the pool between 2pm-5pm daily), jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and treatments. All guests need to have a one off induction to use the spa, which costs £60 per group and is charged and booked directly with the Spa team. The facilities available on site include: a basketball court, 2 tennis courts, a Ping Pong table, Zip-Line (large one needs to be booked through the concierge team) and a small Zip-Line next to the little sand beach on a swimming lake and a large trampoline. The estate also has a large playground, bird-hide for the kid’s club, Chickens that you can visit, feed and collect eggs from, and a petting hutch with rabbits next to the herb garden, as well as an on-site bee hive that makes the most wonderful honey available to purchase at Elsa’s. Elsa’s in an on-site Tipi by the spa that serves delicious homemade food and drinks for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are wonderful walking and running trails on the doorstep as well as a private adult mountain bike and a toddler bike available for guests. Other things to note Boat use and lake swimming is possible from 1st April - 30th September in order to preserve the natural habitats of the wildlife outside of this period. The Orchard Spa access requires a one-off £60 induction (per group, NOT per person) charged directly by the Lakes management team. Pool access is between 2pm-5pm, though you are able to make use of the entire estate outside of these times. Elsa’s tipi is available for breakfast from 8:30am and lunch from 12 noon daily. It also serves drinks and snacks. This season, Friday and Saturdays offer a Pizza dinner from 6pm. It is an 8-10minute walk to Elsa’s from the house, or a short 3-5 minute drive within the estate.
