DarZahia Guest House

The space DarZahia can offer bed and breakfast, one or few rooms for one or few nights. This is a guest house where you are staying with hosts, but you can also book the whole, exclusively for you. DarZahia is located in the liveliest and warmest part of the medina, nearby Derb Chrif and Ferq Lahbabat, five minutes walk from the souks. It is nestled in a blind alley to a dead end of the little town of Taroudant. It welcomes you with elegance and sobriety. Its style and design draw inspiration from Amazigh traditional house. Built in earth, it is soft to the eye and to the touch, it is a peaceful place that products on its visitors an extraordinary sensation of quietness and peace. Its thick adobe walls shelter a lush garden and home is naturally fresh in summer and warm in winter. DarZahia offers its guests a true well-being stay in Taroudant. There are 4 standard bedrooms; two on the ground floor with private ensuite shower room, and two on the first floor that share a shower. The upper rooms also have small private terraces. These four bedrooms rooms have 140cm double beds and dresser and the bathroom walls are covered in polished tadelakt. Please note that there are no toilet facilities in any of the rooms but are just outside on both levels Since Spring 2020 we have constructed 3 superior bedrooms with private shower and toilets. One bedroom per level : ground floor giving directly on the garden, first floor with private terrace and the third one giving on the roof terrace. There is a lovely roof terrace with potted plants and shaded areas to get out of the sun. The courtyard is intensely planted and the scent of jasmine and birdsong give a peaceful feel. There are places to curl up with a book and small plunge pool if you want to cool down. Dinner can be arranged at the riad (around 20€pp) and the staff with happily book guides for Medina tours, hammam visits or excursions further afield 1st Floor Double with Shared Bathroom The 2 first floor rooms overlook the wild yet tame garden of DarZahia from their private terraces. These 2 rooms share a shower bathroom, which is topped by a traditional cay brick dome inlaid with blue glass cabochons, a shaped polished gemstone, that filters the light. The walls of the bathroom are covered with a silk white tadelakt as is the traditional building style of Morocco. The 1st floor rooms share a salon with large cushioned pergola and separate seating area looking down from its terrace over the garden and pool. Ground Floor Double with Ensuite The 2 ground floor rooms at Dar Zahia open onto the garden and pool and have been created in a simple Berber style but with nice contemporary furnishings and superior beds. The two ground floor rooms have ensuite showers and share a w.c close to them. Guest access -There is a lovely roof terrace with potted plants and shaded areas to get out of the sun. -On the ground floor there is a living/dining room with a selection of books -You can have cooking lesson with Sana and or he.r assistant -There is a small pool if you wish to cool down Free wifi in all the house During your stay We spend a lot of time at DarZahia, in case we are away our fantastic team will take care of you The philosophy at DarZahia is that there is no guests but friends and family : this is how we will welcome you.
