It's a stones throw from the river and within walking distance of the historic Elizabethan Walls, Berwick Pier, and the seaside village of Spittal, where dolphins are regularly spotted feeding off the coastline. Recently refurbished with wellbeing in mind this unique home from home promotes joy, rest and adventure. It's perfect for families and couples wishing to escape and create lasting memories. The space There are few right angles to be found in this unique 19th century property. It has been lovingly refurbished and your wellbeing considered throughout with each room customary created to subtly nurture joy, rest and adventure. The MAIN LIVING AREA is a bright open planned space full of colour, natural timber and air purifying plants, featuring a modern galley KITCHEN with fridge/freezer, microwave, gas hob/cooker, washing machine and cafetiere, opening into a dining area for four with customised mood lighting. This spacious living area easily hosts a family with our new velvet green sofa, perfect to snuggle up on. There's also a convenient study/desk area should you wish to work from home, journal or draw. The MAIN BEDROOM has a stylish panelled wall, soft, natural furniture and a double bed fitted with a memory foamed mattress topper to ensure you enjoy a peaceful nights sleep. There's a cosy window nook to curl up with a book and plenty of fitted wardrobes to hideaway your bits and bobs and make yourselves at home. The SECOND BEDROOM is smaller but equally cosy. There are two single beds, with There's some hanging space in the alcove and a storage locker for your belongings. Completing the interior upgrade, the stylishly modern monochrome FAMILY BATHROOM has been fitted with a brand new mixer waterfall shower over the bath for added luxury, includes some soft closing fixtures, and a sleek black towel rail. Last but not least is the all important OUTDOOR SPACE. Yet another quirk to The Nook is the hidden gem of a garden. Step out the back door into a little shared courtyard, follow the stone steps to see the fenced off cosy garden nook on your left. We invite you to make the most of this snug, outdoor space - toast marshmallows with the kids on the fire pit, or enjoy summer barbecues with the family. Out of respect for our lovely neighbours, we ask that you don't use their garden on the other side of the path or through the gate in the wall, and to always pick up after your furry family members. The recent renovations used environmental psychology research (the science of how environments affect human wellbeing and behaviour) to ensure you get the most from your staycation and leave feeling rejuvenated. We've improved air ventilation, reduced noise pollution as much as possible (see below **), provided access to outdoor space, we use eco friendly cleaning products where possible, added extra insulation, provided air purifying plants throughout and use research backed biophillic design (using natural elements) to help reduce stress. **Most ceilings have been lowered to include soundproofing insulation, however the property was built in the 1800s and is a ground floor apartment so you may hear the odd muffled sound from above or creak from our original floor joists. Unfortunately we cannot promise silence but we can promise that we have lovely neighbours. Please consider this and all of the above before booking so there are no unexpected surprises. Other things to note Whilst we try to be as eco friendly as possible, we don’t claim to be 100% eco friendly yet - we’re a work in progress. We use some standard anti-bac cleaning products, however, if you’d prefer us to use non toxic products before your arrival please let us know in advance, and we will try to accommodate this. We can provide an extra foldaway bed if you need space for a fifth guest. Whilst we are dog friendly, we do ask that you don’t allow your lovely pets on any of the furniture and for you to provide their beds, food bowls and anything else they may need. You will be responsible for any damage they may cause - we hope you understand.
