The Old Manor House was built in 1752 and its former farm buildings have now been carefully converted into two delightful holiday cottages (refs 29873 and 29874) which are adjacent to the owner’s home. Retaining the charm of a bygone era, visitors can now enjoy contemporary furnishings and facilities in this peaceful rural setting close to the coast. Each cottage enjoys a private patio area and the freedom to wander the woodland area surrounding the pond. You will find a restaurant, café and bakery on-site, with craft activities also available. Ulrome has an interesting 11th-century church, and when walking right through the village you reach the sea, where steps lead down to the beach which is popular for fossil hunting and fishing. Traditional seaside fun can be found at Hornsea, 6½ miles, and Bridlington, 8 miles, where there are further sandy beaches, boat trips, numerous teashops, restaurants and inns. Hornsea Mere and RSPB Bempton Nature Reserve are a bird lovers’ paradise. Visit the stately homes at Burton Agnes and Burton Constable, and enjoy the beautiful gardens, children’s zoo and land train at Sewerby Hall. The quaint market town of Beverley, renowned for its minster and racecourse, is within half an hour’s drive, and inland lays the scenic countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds which inspired the famous Hockney paintings.
