Simplicity is the new luxury! Self-sufficient, detached miller's house. The cottage is located in the middle of the Frisian nature reserve Wynserpolder. There is no paved road to it. To get to this unique quiet place, walk through the meadow. Ideal for peace seekers, relaxers, nature lovers, bird watchers and writers. Go "back-to basic" and "off grid" and enjoy the (predatory) birds, deer, hares, cows and storks. Fifteen minutes from Leeuwarden. Minimum 3 nights. In July and August, min. 1 week The space The living room (clay walls!) consists of an open kitchen, a large wood-burning stove and a large closet. Next, a bedroom with a lovely wooden artisan-made bed. Upstairs is a smaller bedroom/study with a nice single bed. The bathroom with shower and dry toilet are located in a separate room. You don't have to pull the dry toilet. Urine and feces are collected separately. The urine is purified in an IBA, as is the "wastewater" from the kitchen. This is purified and then discharged as clean water in the nearby ditch. Guest access Because it takes a lot of effort to haul the wood across the land (by wheelbarrow), we charge 10 euros per box of wood. You will receive the first box from us. You can also bring your own wood. In the summer months, the heater does not have to be turned on in principle. In the winter months, there is insufficient solar power. However, there is a diesel generator. Furthermore, it is comfortable to stay with an oil lamp (gives a lot of light). Other things to note If there is too little sun, for example, it will not be possible to cook electrically (there is a butane gas set), because the solar panels will then supply too little solar power. Incidentally, there is always enough power for light and laptop. The cottage has no connection to the electricity grid or the water supply. Still, there is electricity and water. The 28 solar panels on the roof provide real solar power. The well provides water, at least if it rains enough. Simplicity is the new luxury! The cottage is really back-to-basic. No TV, internet connection or telephone. The bathroom is separate from the cottage. Cozy living room with lovely wood-burning fireplace, beautiful sunrises and sunsets. A unique experience. Do bring boots, because you have to walk through two meadows (sometimes past organic cows) to get to the cottage! Experience this rural experience!
